Hot coolant from the vehicle's engine is passed through a winding tube of the core, a heat exchanger between coolant and cabin air. Fins attached to the core tubes serve to increase surface for heat transfer to air that is forced past them, by a fan, thereby heating the passenger compartment.

So this went in my 1984, CJ 7 it does not lineup exactly right it does not go through the firewall exactly right, but with the help of the drift pen, you can get things to move around where you need them and you can make it work
