I heard good and bad about these headers I put a 351w in a 68mustang with power steering drivers sides tight but not really an issue. Thers only 1 header bolt that's hard to get tight sure it's a tight fit but a good design makes it easy. 1hr 2 old men 63yrs old. My directions are jack drivers side up high enough to stand the header almost straight up and down it will slide right in (take steering slave cylinder drp down bracket off first you gotta get the new drop down bracket anyway) take both valve covers off makes it easier to bolt them on from top passenger side wont heed to be as high car ramp is good on that side drivers needs to be higher. 1hr tops to install. Only issue is where both headers drop in not to good to complete the exhaust but it's doable.both sides could be tucked under about 1 to 2 inches closer to Trans. I have a c4 auto 157 tooth ring gear

I installed these headers on a 67 Mustang Coupe, 351W, C4 transmission, manual steering, non-power brake. They went in fairly easy from the bottom and has plenty of clearance on driver's side. Passenger side has clearance but tighter against the shock towers. Only issues were a need to slightly dent one tube to clear the pitman arm and one of the tubes was incorrectly dimpled and getting the bolt in was a bear. Other than that very happy.

I purchased these for a 1965 Ford Mustang 289 with a four-speed. The car had a set of headers (unknown brand P/N 6111) but these did not allow the removal of any of the spark plugs, were rusty and were dented in several locations. The motor had to be lifted to get them out of the car. The new 88660 Hedman headers went easily up onto the motor and bolted right up. No jacking up or moving of the motor was required. However, the passenger side touched the bell-housing and one tube (#6) on the driver side rested on top of the pivot for the equalizer bar (so it could not be reinstalled). I also found their was not quite enough room to tighten the spark plugs in #5 and #6 with a socket (the socket would fit on the plug but was so close to the pipe it could not be removed once the plug was tightened) and it was impossible to get a socket on #8. It's too bad as there was plenty of room in the engine bay for these to fit had the passenger side been designed to move the right an inch and the #6 tube been pulled up an inch to allow room for the equalizer bar. I can see that all spark plugs could also easily be accessible with a small movement of some of the piping. I'm just trying to get an inexpensive set to work as I have not decided if I want to keep this motor. I know when I put on a set on a 65 Mustang I had in the early 70's the fit was fine and I could get to all the plugs. Now almost 40 years later it seems from my research getting headers to fit is not so easy. Well I'm off to order set from another manufacturer.
