This worked flawlessly on a Lycoming aircraft engine spark plug hole. I tried a cheaper one first, did not work. The design of this, if used properly, makes inserting a helicoil fool-proof. Certainly worth the extra $.

This device does not work. The favorable comment was obviously a “plant”. I am an aircraft mechanic, so my abilities are not the problem. The tap is a quality “Made in U.S.A.” device, and the idea is good, but forget it, the special insertion tool just doesn’t work as designed. It uses special oversized Helicoils which have to be compressed prior to insertion so that they expand inside the hole. I wish it worked. I talked to the vendor about a you tube video, but one doesn’t exist. Wonder why. Jim

This product worked like a champ. I installed my Heli-Coil in the matter of a half hour. This is now a permanent repair and it saved our family thousands of dollars to shell out. The dealer ran down a drain plug in the rear differential with an impact gun! Idiots! They stripped the original threads out when they did this leaving it a one time seal. When I opened it up there were metal shavings everywhere. The dealer really screwed up my rear differential. This saved me thousands on a manufactured differential by having the ability to repair it with this kit. I would recommend this kit to anyone who has a damaged threads in an aluminium housing! Life Saver!!!
