I will admit I was skeptical about buying this live center, but after using it and putting it through the ringer I will say I’m impressed by the quality and for the price you can’t go wrong!

Bearings were rough at the beginning. Had to run the lathe for a bit to break them in. Then I re-oiled them and they're good to go. Do this before you start an important project.

No complaints, it does the job for very little money. I use it all the time and it shows no signs of wearing out, and seems to have no problem meeting the advertised tolerances.

Decent live center for the price and coming from China. It will rust up pretty quickly (poor quality tool steel) so keep a light coat of oil on it.

MT1 Live center did not spin and I couldn't loosen it with as much torque as I could get on it. Kroil (penetrating oil) eventually loosened it, but I could feel loose material in the bearings, also the bearings didn't feel right. I suspect that it wasn't lubed at the factory so returned it to Amazon. Also, the body was plain steel, no rings as in the pictures. It was in a box with the correct part number, though. The "certificate of quality" was dated either 2011 or 2018, as the date format was ambiguous.

Excellent replacement for dead center in a craftsman model 80 lathe with #1 tapers. No complaints or concerns.

For the price I couldn’t ask for better quality, which follows most other HHIP products. The bearings are nice and run excellent under load, the front is removable for service, and best of all the accuracy is something I’d expect to see in a product easily costing twice as much. Overall a very good purchase that will probably be with my lathe for years.
