This is the clamp that holds up and locks down the hitch, at least so far in our journey. I avoided the many knock-offs because of the complaints about various types of failure with any significant load. We're using a drop hitch adapter and towing a vehicle, so I wanted a solid connection and this has met that purpose so far. If it fails, I'll update the review.

Highly recommended. Quite pleased with these clamps. Seems easier to use than the "plate" style. I needed a 2" and a 1 1/4" for my setup. Can be mounted as shown or with the nuts facing up. The HitchClamp website says to torque to 25 lbs.

I purchased the hitch clamp for when I am towing my travel trailer. Easy to install and holds my stinger in place with zero movement and noise.

This was very simple to install and really locks your hitch in place so there is absolutely no play in it at all. Of course your trailer where it attaches to the ball may move a little once in a while, but the actual hitch is locked in tight and keeps it as quiet as can be. It seems like a very quality product too. It's not just a "U bolt" with nuts if that's what you were thinking.

Although this hitch tightener is more expensive than other options, it is heavy heavy, made in the USA, and works great! This is definitely a case of getting what you pay for, in terms of functionality and quality.I put it on the factory hitch of my 2018 4Runner, and had to install it a little differently than the instructions call for, due to the way hitch is made. Rather than grinding on the safety chain loop as another 4Runner owner/reviewer mentioned (no bueno, IMO), I inserted the U-built from underneath, and right through each of the safety chain loops. The round bar fastens on top of the item in the hitch, as normal after that. Tightened the nuts, and it is SOLID. 👍👍

I am pulling a 2019 Grand Design travel trailer weighing 7700 lbs with my 2016 Nissan NV 3500 HD SL using a Camco Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 Weight Distributing Hitch. The hitch was very loose in the receiver and clunked and rattled very bad from the beginning . I have used 3 other types and brands of anti rattle hitch clamps before this one and none of them worked at all. The first thing I noticed out of the box was how much bigger and heavy duty this one is compared to all of the rest. The other clamps I have used wouldn't stay tight on my hitch after a few miles they would loosen up and start rattling. I used this one on a trip to Disney World Fort Wilderness for the first time and it didn't clunk or rattle one time there and back ( 175 miles each way). never had to retighten once , a far superior design to all of the rest. Well Worth The Money !!

This clamp has now been in use for several thousand miles, elevating its’ “social status”, now located on the receiver of a much bigger diesel pusher coach, towing a heavier SUV.It is still performing flawlessly, keeping things rigid and quiet back there. It has been removed and re-installed countless times, and I did find a couple new nuts and lock washers, the only items that showed any corrosion/wear...Originally I thought $18.00 was a bit much for a glorified U-bolt; however, amortized over the last four years, it was well worth it, even at twice the price. Unless I get careless and leave it lying around somewhere, I see no reason to ever buy another...
