This hood was the perfect fit for my Gypsy Shire cross. Purchased with an 81 size turnout sheet. Hood was easy to put on and attach to the matching blanket.

I got this mostly to help keep my gray horse clean when he's turned out. It's nice it's a no fill so doesn't add a ton of warmth. The quality is good, the material is nice and hardware feels sturdy. Overall it's a good value.

I was initially so happy with this detachable neck piece, to go along with the matching turnout. Great material. Seemed sturdy. Right from the start, the straps seemed too long and although it fit fine around the front of the neck with Velcro, the other end with the metal attachments was loose. Not only are the straps too long, but it’s also stretchy material. This led to near disaster. My horse likes to roll on his back, side to side... kind of like a dog. He was doing this two days ago when the stretchy attachment straps got wrapped around the base of his neck. He was unable to loosen it to get free and was being strangled. By sheer luck, a barn worker was putting another horse in a neighboring paddock at the time. She saw my horse in distress, heard him wheezing, and jumped into his paddock to get the wrap off his neck. The design of this neck wrap is flawed beyond comprehension. I wish I could get my money back but it’s been worn for two weeks and isn’t exactly “new” anymore. But the most important thing is that my horse is alive. DO NOT BUY THIS!

The piece is well made and a good value but the medium I ordered for my seventeen hand thoroughbred was at least a size too big. Would definitely fit a heavier breed. The length was perfect but the size was way off. Definitely more for a draft cross or a warmblood. Maybe a heavier mustang even.

Very nice quality hood. The medium fits my 15.2h, 1,000lbs Appendix gelding. With my gelding being a grey, I like to have a light weight hood to keep him cleaner, but it can be hard to find a durable neck hood that is 0g fill. This neck cover fits everything I look for and I especially like that it has clasps for attaching to the blanket. The straps for the clasps are elastic so they have a nice stretch to them. I would have also purchased the Horze blanket that goes along with this hood, but I already had the blanket in the picture. The picutred blanket is a 78" Derby Originals Windstorm Series and this neck cover works with that blanket. The D rings for the clasps don't line up. but it still works.

Its for a thick necked horse. I had the velcro tailored and it fits my horse nicely now. Value is good, but had a lot of extra room for my thoroughbred width wise. From poll to wither its nice, I ordered a medium at first and returned it for a small for a 16H TB and still needed the velcro tailored. It has 3 claw clasps to attach to your blanket. Great for a heated barn for them to have something extra for turnout and not roast when they come in.
