This is one of those items that is a lot more important than it looks. It can save you and your chainsaw a lot it damage if a chain flies off the bar. If it gets damaged, don't be lazy and put yourself at risk - replace it!

Check your chain catcher and replace it immediately if damage as you can replace your chain catcher but can’t replace a missing finger!

My old one is pretty torn up. Still functional, maybe, but I am not taking a chance. Got a new one. God blesses those that are prepared. I've had a chain going full bore get pinched and come off a bar and get caught by the chain catcher and not my leg or other body part.This is a direct replacement.

Chain came off my 450 Rancher and busted the chain catcher - better the chain catcher than my leg :-) Hopefully I'll never have that happen again as it was a little scary, but it is good to know I can get a high-quality replacement part for a reasonable cost if needed.
