The tool is simple enough to use and critical for HVAC troublshooting. If refrigerant is low, you have a leak. Period. Turn the Leak Detector on and move the probe/sensor slowly along accessible refrigerant lines, valves, and junctions. With summer nearly here, I noticed my daughter's 2018 Honda not blowing very cold. I used this to locate leaking schrader valves, both high pressure and low. As soon as I removed the caps and placed the probe near the valve, it alarmed. Keep in mind that if the leaked refrigerant dissapates quickly, the Leak Detector will stop alarming. Next step is to get a set of gauges for her system (R1234yf) and take some measurements to confirm the problem is with low refrigerant. If that's the case, the next step will be to get a tool (also on Amazon) that allows replacing the valve cores without having to evacuate the system.Wish me luck. I will update once confirming the problem.

Very bulky but seems to work like it's supposed to. Would definitely suggest for the price.

I had been chasing a leak on my Honda CRV for some time. I usually use a dye and UV light, but no joy on the Honda. I had tightened everything, and no visible leaks.Within 5 minutes I was able to locate a bad O ring on the Low side. It was on the back of a fitting where my UV light wouldn't shine. This is a keeper for sure.

It works like it is supposed to. It picked up small amounts of R134A like it should when testing our older vehicle. It seems to calibrate easily and fairly quickly. My husband thinks it is worth the money for an infrequent user like him as we check our own products.

Excellent detector for refrigerant! I consider my self an advanced DIYer and I wanted this too to have handy when I do any HVAC work. Build quality is excellent and it comes in a nice case as well. Highly recommend!

Seems to work well with conventional HVAC equipment, as well as the new A2L equipment. Battery life has been much better than the current rechargeable detector that I've been using. Also, don't have to worry about having to recharge, or losing the use while onsite due to dead battery.
