Ordered one to replace old board. Ignitor then stopped working due to bad relay on band new board. Confirmed with meter. Could hear it clicking and trying to close but would never send voltage. Ordered another ICM replacement board and SAME EXACT thing occurred. Went ahead and spent the extra money on the Nordyne factory replacement. Worked perfectly. 2 ICM boards in a row with bad or cheap relays. Don't bother.

This is an excellent product that was delivered as promised. As luck would have it, my furnace stopped working just before the holidays. I called the repairman who analyzed the symptoms and narrowed the problem to one of two components, one mechanical and one electronic, either of which would cost about $400 to repair. I gambled on it being the master control board, researched the specific part I needed for my furnace, and ordered it from Amazon.com. The part arrived a few days later in perfect condition.A WORD OF WARNING: This part comes with a disclaimer that states it should only be installed by a qualified technician. I suppose that's because if you wire it incorrectly, bad things could happen. In theory, it is simple to swop out the old board for a new one but there are several wires and groups of wires that need to be moved to the new board. Therein lies the risk of making a mistake. As a novice, I was very concerned about getting this right the first time. To that end, I took a picture of the old board before I removed any wires so I would have a point of reference just in case I needed it. I then turned off the power to the furnace. Then I removed one wire (or bundle) at a time and placed it on the new board being careful to note its exact location before and after the move. Some of the bundles will only fit in one place - you couldn't screw that up if you tried. But some of the other wires can be placed on the wrong terminal on the new board, with unknown consequences. The point I'm making here is check and double check the connections as you go. Count terminal locations because some wires have empty terminal next to them -at least that was the case for me. Check and double check and you'll be fine.Well, now the furnace works great and I saved myself about $300 bucks!

I have a HVAC service contract but the control board replacement was not covered. They quoted me almost $500 for the new board and installation. So I did what most of you did: looked the part up on Amazon, saw the high ratings and bought it. Installation was as easy as just taking the connections off the old board and adding them onto the new board. I took a picture of the old board first just in case I lost my place.Turned the heat on and it worked perfectly.

This was about 75% cheaper than the OEM part that I would have had to order (up to a week delay) from the manufacturer. I could not believe that this would be so inexpensive. It works flawlessly and hooked up with no issues. Even though it looks different, all of the ports for wiring harnesses were identical. Could not be happier!

My furnace: A Frigidaire FG6RA 072C - 12ANote: I'm a mechanical engineer so I know just enough about electronics to make me dangerous with a multimeterWhen my furnace broke at the start of this past fall and I diagnosed the problem to be the circuit board, I was amazed at how expensive OEM replacement boards were! This was relatively ancient technology that was only expensive because no one made new OEM parts anymore: just refurbished parts were out there. I did hours of research and finally came across this circuit board as an acceptable replacement.Naturally when you're replacing an electronics part you have to worry about whether the new part will make the problem worse... voltage and current differences as well as different circuit logic could all cause problems. I took a chance due to the price and was extremely pleased with my decision.CONSTRUCTION: This board is SIGNIFICANTLY more robust than the OEM board. The old board had poor soldering and the resistors were literally melting away the board. The new board had great soldering and the chips were covered in a laquer that I believe will make them resistant to the environment. The whole set of equipment was well packaged for transport to minimize the chance of damage during transit.COMPATIBILITY: This board came on a metal frame that was a carbon copy of the one already in my furnace. It had the exact same attachment points so installation was a breeze. The picture doesn't lie: all the connections were exactly the same as the ones already in my furnace. I didn't need to switch connectors, although they do provide a set just in case.MOST IMPORTANTLY: I have heat! Life is good!If you have specific questions or need (unofficial) help diagnosing your problems, drop me a note and I'll get back to you ASAP!
