I would give it 0 stars but Amazon won’t let me…..This puller broke the first time I tried to use it to take off the sailboat prop…. Yes I used heat on the prop….yes I tapped on a block of wood and not the tool…..The cheap little nipple that goes inside the shaft snapped off…. Don’t waste your money…..

Super frustrating. How hard is it to simply have ONE EMPLOYEE measure the products you sell so your descriptions are accurate. I returned a previous propeller puller because despite declaring in only needed 1/4" clearance between the shaft and the propeller, it needed 3/8" clearance. This one was a little more expensive and looked to be made more to specificity. WRONG!! It also requires AT LEAST 3/8 inches clearance. Seriously, just measure your tools before you go through the hassle of selling them. It wastes your time and mine.

First, I have two inboard boats, a sport and fishing model, that are single inboards and have 1 1/8" shafts. I got this tool to be able to replace the cutlass bearings on both, as they were well worn. I was able to pull both props, although one took some coaxing with a rubber mallet, and replaced the bearings. I did note some slight deflection on this tool under the full pull, but it appears to have returned to normal after. The distance between the front of the prop hub to the end of the shaft on one was 3.75", in the mid range of this tool, and the other had an extended threaded portion designed for a longer prop nut, and was 4.5" - the tool barely fit, and this was the max length per the tools specification. Before ordering, you should measure this distance first to ensure you fall within the tools designed range. If it is, this tool works, and at a better price than some of the name brand ones.

In theory, this product should work, however, the tip broke as I was tightening it in to loosen the propeller. The tip is now jammed into the end of my propeller shaft, and I ultimately had to remove the propeller another way. I do not recommend.

Read plenty of reviews about the tool breaking. I decided to give it a shot and pleased to say it did the job with the help of pb blaster and some heat. I can see it snapping if your prop is really stuck on the shaft and expect the tool to do all the work.
