It only needs a little piece of plastic clipped off. It's like a little guide for the cable that gets in the way. It's super thin and brittle it comes off easily.

My OEM fan started to knock and catch and finally broke entirely, pulled said fan and searched by model number and found this one. It works just fine, can spin up to the max setting no problem. I imagine it will last a few years.

Replaced the fan on a stock GTX 1660TI mini (HP Omen Obelisk) and works well. Perfect fit. Previous fan would intermittently stop spinning, causing over heating of the video card. Replacement fan resolved the problem.

After searching through many fans these were closest to what I needed to replace my noisy cooling fans on my ASUS GTX580 graphics card. (An old card but still useful performance for a backup gaming PC).These fans are about 5mm smaller diameter but had the correct 3 leg mounting with 40mm diag spacing for screws (NB! need to use the old screws). Also the 4 pin plugs are of the correct gender for this card.NB! Use a well fitting small cross head screwdriver to remove the fan cover screws (3 screws are hidden under orange flashes on the body of the cover) Route the fan cables carefully to prevent fouling with the fans.Reinstalled and tested using 3D Mark software and adjusted cooling curve to maintain good cooling with lowest possible fan speed. Nice and quiet. BTW not too noisy when set at 100% speed. Cant comment on reliability as early days.Very pleased I can still get service from this GFX.

Ordered it to replace my old one missing a broken blade. Now I have to wait to get another because my new one is also missing a single blade. Just my luck.

If you don't already know this, The original fan on the zotac geforce gtx 1060 3gb is prone to failure and will at some point fairly early in the cards life completly fail. If your lucky, It will happen while you are right there so that you can catch the temp rising and or hear the awful noises the oem fan makes as it is failing. I was in the middle of a Heaven benchmark run at max settings on a heavy overclock and had the fan manually set to 100%. My card had roughly 6 months of light use on it prior to it being given to me by a friend. Upon failure I immediately exited the benchmark and shut down my machine and pulled the card for inspection. the fan barely spun by hand.So I got online and typed in the card spec and the inRobert DIY double ball bearing replacement showed up and had good ratings. It cost less than $10 Dollars and arrived in 1 Day. Installation is pretty simple. Fans 3 screw holes line up perfect, fan pwm plug is identical as well as the wires being the same colors. The only thing you will need to do is snip part of the plastic piece which guides the wires away from the fan as it will not sit flush or work otherwise. I noticed it appeared that the original zotac fan had the same modification. The 2nd thing to note is that the fan wiring is a fair amount longer than the original fan. All you need to do is wrap the wire around once and tuck under heat sink and good to go.I would recommend at this time to also pull the heat sink and clean/ then re apply a high quality thermal paste but this is optional.Fan works great and I believe at full speed spins faster than the original as well. At moderate speed the fan is virtually silent.Even if your fan is fine i would purchase this replacement to keep on hand... I was even able to transfer the zotac sticker off the front of the original fan and onto the replacement. Without knowing, no one would even be able to tell the difference.

While it was much better than the failing stock fan (zotac 1060 mini) my 3 stars are mostly for the need to alter it to fit, incorrect reported fan speed (yeah like 810,811 rpm is correct) and so-so performance (82 C in game) when compared to a temporary fix of a 120mm case fan tied to the fan shroud. It's cheaper than a good and quiet 120mm fan and obviously doesn't require a slot under the card but push came to shove would use the 120mm fan again.

Soon as I got all three screws back in the fan, the wire manager would pop up enough to hit the fan. One of the management flanges broke off on its own. Ended up cutting the whole thing off. Could not get it to quit hitting otherwise. Had that fan off and back on at least a dozen times before I did that. Also the wires are at least 2 1/2 time longer than the original. Had to get creative in where to put the excess. Also, make sure you have a magnetic screw driver. With out that it will be very difficult to get all the screws in.
