These are sturdy and lightweight. I don't use mine as oftern as expected because they don't dry out when stacked.

This is my second set. I had them for my kids, but purchased a new set for grands and we all love them. They are easy to clean, cover a decent area to do art, play with playdough, etc.

I’ve had these for about 10years and buy new ones every 4-5 years! They are great for arts and crafts, painting and especially playdoh play! They wash easy by hand every time!

I love these mats. I can tape my watercolor paper to them. I can often work on a project on one and then just move it out of the way when I need the table. They wash well after a messy painting or gluing project. They are cheap enough not to be precious. They have a grid on them for simple measuring. They stack in a neat pile when not in use.

Original review 7/2017:I've been very pleased with these.I was originally looking for something to minimize time spent cleaning play-doh off wooden tables. These had great reviews, so I thought I'd try them. At first, the material didn't seem as nice as I was expecting, but after using them for a while they have exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased that I got them.They work great for arts and crafts (glue, markers, acrylic paints, mod podge) and for play-doh. I find myself using them as well. They are so much easier and faster than spreading out newspapers, they clean much easier than I expected, and they don't stick to objects that are drying (like paper can be especially bad at when painting with acrylics). The grid is a nice bonus.For kids, it helps contain the mess to have a very clearly defined space for working (rather than, for example, the whole table). They are large--plenty big enough for anything I've needed them for so far, and you could always overlap several if you were doing something bigger. Since they're transparent, kids also enjoy seeing what colors are created when you lay different mats on top of each other.Update 5/2018:I still love these. An added benefit of these is that since they're a bit stiff, you can move your in-progress project easily when needed, e.g. off the kitchen table for dinner.One thing to be careful with: if you are using a lot of glue, flip them over and use the back ("neatness mat" will be backwards). The front has the ink on it, and once when I was peeling off dried glue on the front, some of the grid came off. If you rinse off the glue more gently with soap I didn't have that problem.

Absolutely love these mats! First off, they're gorgeous. Just as colorful and translucent as pictured. Secondly, they're so useful! I had envisioned using them to protect my craft tabletop from beading and cutting activities, but they also came in handy over Memorial Day Weekend when I unexpectedly ended up with 4 toddlers wanting to do coloring pages with markers on top of my kitchen tablecloth. No problem, I just gave them each a mat and let them go. Really, really great item and a steal at the price.
