It features Jacquard Professional Screen Inks, which have longer open time in the screen in comparison to other water-based products making them ideal for small production runs. They work well on most porous and non-porous surfaces such as fabric, vinyl, metal, leather, paper, wood, plastic, canvas and more. The kit includes a 10" x 14" pre-stretched silk screen with lacquered wood frame, a 9" wood-handled squeegee, four 4 oz. jars of Jacquard Professional Screen Inks in opaque blue, opaque red, opaque yellow, super opaque white), 4 oz. photo emulsion, .33g diazo sensitizer, three acetate sheets and a stir stick.

My red ink was already dried out.Ink does not adhere well to shirts, will not stand up to repeated washing. The frame and scraper are good though.

This was my first-time screen printing and everything you need is in this box. However, I made my own machine after watching a youtube video and orders more supplies. I made my own silk screens too but used the one in this kit as well. Trust me, this kit is perfect if you only have three (3) designs because only there pieces of transfer paper (similar to the clear projector paper) is included. The squeegee is the best! You will need more supplies if you're trying to start a small business.Note: master your skills with this all-in-one kit.Note: make sure you buy the photo emulsion remover so you can reuse the screen for another project/design.Note: you can put a small logo on the top part of the screen and a large one in the bottom so you can make a front and back t-shirt design. Just make sure to cover the design you're hot using with painter's tape. Enjoy!

Good for a starter kit for those willing to learn and take the time I read. You could buy these in your local art store for cheaper and colours that you need. But this comes with an instructions .

The actual kit we got had some gluing issues (looks like the glue ran past the edges, and dripped). We managed to play with it, and it worked well!Amazon being amazing, has replaced it.So ignoring the manufacturing mistake, this is an amazing little kit.Just like always, check your stuff before you wait too long.

I've always had difficulty screenprinting in the past, but I had success with this kit. Note that it is a time consuming project and works best if you buy some of the recommended materials such as a task light and bulb for reliable exposure as the sun can produce unpredictable results. It also helps to have a designated dark room to work in and materials such as painters cloth/plastic for the floor, a non-heated fan for drying the screen after coating, a sheet of glass to lay over your design to keep it flat during exposure, black cloth or paper to prevent light from reflecting back during exposure, masking tape to cover up any holes or edges in the screen in uncoated portions, and a lamp with yellow bug lights (which I learned are darkroom safe) so that you can see what you are doing while you work. Watching videos of the process and reading other websites will also make the process run smoothly (there are several forums online with friendly users who will gladly help you out in the process) as the included manual can be a bit barebones at times.I'm sure it is possible to make screens using just what is in the box, however having the additional materials makes the process a lot easier. I bought a 250 watt photoflood bulb and a heavy duty heat lamp and had the lamp 12" over the screen for 15 minutes with good results. The emulsion was a bit tricky to remove, so I scrubbed parts with a toothbrush. Also note that any portions of the transparency that have noticeable lines from an inkjet printer will show up during exposure, so make sure your art is completely solid black after printing onto transparencies. I have only tried one ink color but it shows up well on the somewhat dark shirt I printed.I bought this kit a week before I needed to have some shirts made and was able to assemble the remaining materials, coat the screen, and print the shirts with many days to spare. I have plenty of ink and emulsion leftover, so I will be able to buy additional screens and continue to use the materials included to make more designs. This kit has worked very well, my only complaint is that I feel as though I would not have had great results if I hadn't bought additional items and sought plenty of outside information.

I ordered this kit, along with several other items, to create my own "hacking it at home with screenprinting" setup.Pros: slightly cheaper to buy this kit than to buy the items separately. Great for beginners or someone just looking to experiment. Ink can be used on both fabric and paper and is water-soluble--very easy to clean up. Instructions included are clear and thorough. Squeegee included is good quality and size.Cons: If you plan on printing a large number of items, or several types of items, I would recommend the other items I've listed below. Not much ink is included--if you are frugal and keep excess ink from the screen and squeegee for later use it will go a long way--but order extra ink if you will be doing many items. The silk is just glued to the frame, not stapled.. and mine (sadly) became loose on one edge after a couple uses. I repaired it with a staple gun, but it's permanently wrinkled because I could not stretch the small amount of silk on the edge enough to make it as taught as it should be. I would recommend immediately stapling the silk in place when you receive it. This will not tear or damage the silk, and you can actually make your own screens this way (which I recommend if you want more screens--so much cheaper than purchasing pre-made ones). This kit only comes with three pieces of acetate (clear plastic sheets which you can print or draw your designs on to create your screens)--THREE? Gah. So.. either don't mess up or buy extra. I bought extra.Other items you may want: Pair of hinge clamps (Speedball ones are heavy duty and not terribly expensive, mount these to a piece of plywood and if you're really handy, inset them in the board so your screen lays flat against the surface--OR, an assistant willing to hold the screen in place can take the place of the clamps), more ink and photo emulsion, more acetate (or similar) sheets for exposing designs, apron, clamp light + bulb for exposure (they include instructions for all types of lights which is great, but be patient and experiment), putty knives (for mixing paint, found at your local hardware store), rags, bleach, and magic erasers for clean up / reclaiming the screen.

I bought this to make shirts for a family camping trip. It came out okay considering it was my first time screen printing. The inks in the kit are nice and opaque so they worked well on the navy shirts I got. They were also soft and rubbery when dried so it was suitable for fabrics. Keep in mind the inks do dry out fast so you need to work quickly. It completely dried on the screen on my first attempt and the only thing that would get it off was 409. Also, there is no emulsion remover included and the instructions say to use bleach. I heat set using a heat gun for about 2 minutes and they held up great after 1 wash. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase.
