Plenty of speed control for differing buffing needs. Good selection of wheels. You will probably want to get differing grades of compound for progressive polishing.

Exactly what I need for polishing brass and steel coins I am making with my laser. It comes with 6 cloth wheels, 2 abrasive wheels, a stick of white compound, some safety glasses, and some screws to screw it down with. You need a solid bench to attach this to, so it will both hold it still, and so you can lean into the work. Get some good plastic jaw pliers, good eye and face protection, and put a shine on your project! This is a typical small polisher, it will bog down if you just lean on it too much, you need to pulse the pressure and let it spin back up. Also pick up more than one kind of compound... different compounds depending on the hardness of the metal you are working. Buy a kit of compounds, and it will tell you what each compound cuts.

When I was young, I worked in a jewelry store and used a bench polisher to polish jewelry and silver. I thought it would be worth having one at this price point and am not disappointed. I haven't mounted it to a work bench yet but quickly set it up and polished my first spoon from the silver set to see how it would go. The answer is perfectly. Im just a few minutes I was able to remove almost all of the scratches and restore the original luster. Im also looking forward to using it to put a super fine edge on my knives as a last step in sharpening.4 stars because it only comes with white compound. Will probably need to order others for most jobs. Also, the directions are pretty limited. If you haven't used one before, or if it has been a while, you will need to watch a few videos.

I have a bench grinder with a wire wheel/grinding stone for bigger stuff and a dremel for grinding/buffing/polishing the smaller things. This unit is the perfect size between the two and is a great starter buffer for jewelry and other smaller items. Lots of accessories and the directions actually make sense which is uncommon these days. I did have to buy some buffing and polishing compounds but the set was less than $10 on Amazon. The only deficiency I found was speed control. The instructions recommend certain speeds for various tasks (2,500, 4,000 RPM's, etc). The speed control knob is only marked for 0 and 10,000 RPMs. 2,500 RPM's might be a quarter of the way on the knob's range but I seriously doubt that. Dremel marks their speed knobs in 5,000 RPM increments to at least provide the illusion that the speed is in the ballpark. Otherwise a great tool.

So happy to be able to hold what Iām polishing with both hands. Makes it very easy to get to all angles and shines very nicely.
