If you use it often enough and know how to use it accurately, then it's a great investment.pros:1. The head holder slides up and down for different sizes bow.2. the head holder and the frog holder are padded to protech the head, stick, and frog.3. The frog head is also adjustable for violin, viola, cello bows, not sure about bass bow.4. Your bow will be in the jig; therefore, it reduces the danger of breaking the bow when you bump into the bow or the bow bump into things.5. built with quality wood. I have mine over ten years now, the finish came off a little here and there, but still good and strong. It looks like the pad is coming off, but it's an easy replacement.Cons:1. The head holder does not have any device to keep the head/tip in place so when I rehair, the head kept coming off the holder. I have yet to learn how to use it properly. I am thinking about modifying the head holder, but it will be a lot of work.2. No instruction comes with it.3. If you travel with it, it will be difficult to carry it.4. You can't really use the frog holder saparately when you take the frog off of the stick.Great design, but not sure what professional bow repairers will say about it.

Yes! Finally, I can rehair a bow in 15 minutes instead of 45, thanks to this jig.
