I had high hopes for this spooler but boy was I disappointed. It's clunky when spooling and the line counter stoped working 10ft in. The best part of this kit is the bands and I guess the scissors. If your looking for a line spooler keep on looking.

Bought this for my father so he could line his fishing pokes himself. Worked so good I bought myself one. Wish I would have known about these years ago!

This tool is great to have when lining a fishing rod and reel. It holds the line tight and has a counter on it. Quick and easy to use.

Spooling open face reels this tool is a must because no line twist plus pretty fast at spooling line with adjustable drag to make sure it doesn't unspool faster than you are turning the crank on the reel an with this one you don't have to unmount the reel from your pole to load the reel spool you do it on the pole plus with the counter you know exactly how many feet your loading and if you use braid line it can be hard to cut sometimes but with the heavy duty scissors that comes with it there's no problem cutting the stronger lines

I was rather impressed by the sturdiness of this contraption. It took me a few minutes into get everything figured out and lined up correctly but let me tell you once I had everything in place I was knocking out this season reels without any issues at all. All told I relined 4 reels in about 30 minutes. Worth the investment no questions!

I love this thing.It puts tension on the line.It removes the possibility of a twist.It's easy to use.It's fast.What's not to love????I read several one star ratings, and I think they are to be ignored. If you put it on the rod properly (twsh), you cannot injure your rod. It should be quite loose.The line counter works as advertised, but it only goes up to 999', which really isn't that big of a deal.And you can to some extent adjust the tension if you play around with it.My only (one star worth) of complaint is that it doesn't hold larger spools. I have a standard spool which is 1000m and 4" across, and it doesn't fit on the holder. Pity given it would have only taken a tiny bit more plastic for them to be compatible...I've put on 1000 yards onto 2 reels now, and it was faster, simpler, better tensioned, and more uniform than any of the other 100 reels I've done. I'm very happy with it.

Used on a custom fluke rod with acid wrapped eyes. The Kastking is all plastic and very cheaply made. The plastic gears that hold the line to the device are very loose and allow the line to wobble. The line counter skips when reels in the braid. Even when going really slow. Even the grip to the rod was easy to over tighten on the carbon rod black. Take caution when using.The scissors are legit and worked really well. The rest of the item is junk and not for the serious fishing person that has to rely on your equipment when hunting trophy fish.I should have used prior to return period ending. Lesson learned.I guess you never know until you try. I would keep looking for something manufactured to last.

I've purchased other items from Kastking and all have proven useful and reliable. The line spooler worked well and easily and helped keep everything tensioned and orderly. I know it's difficult for most of us to look at the instruction manual but give it a try on this and everything will go smoothly. I would recommend.
