Ordered the side rack for a different purpose than to hold fuel tanks. The rack was and is solid so no complaints there. I needed a way to hold fishing equipment and used some 2 inch conduit to hold my rods and attached it to the Kemi-Moto side rack. May also help when I slide down the pavement someday... to protect the bike of course.

I got this rack to use as a place to mount a jerry can on my Trail 125. I had to do some improvising because the array of holes in the rack did not line up properly with the bracket for my jerry can, but I got it to work in the end and it was a CRITICAL accessory on my recent 1200-mile trip. I'm really happy with it.

The is arrived in very good shape, both the inner and outer packaging was very well done, little chance of parts shifting around which has been a beef of mine in the past with this brand.The side rack is truly stout, you could hang just about any kind of bag, box, or fuel container you like, it will accommodate it. Zero issues with the finish, no rubbing or wear marks whatsoever.I was a little surprised at the skimpy instructions, but this is a fairly straightforward install. Just looking at online photos will tell you pretty much what you might need to know.Good gear, good to go!

This isn't the first Kemimoto product I've ordered, and one of the common problems I've had is their packaging isn't very secure. Boxes are too big, pieces float around and bang into each other, and its caused chips in the paint.So I'll say the packaging on this is better in that the box fits the product in a way to help prevent scratching. HOWEVER, having said that... there was still paint chipped off because while the pieces are in bubblewrap, they are so loosely thrown in there that they fall out of the bubblewrap.Which is a real shame, because my gosh are these parts quality. Super strong metal and well designed. I mean, I still recommend them despite the risk of painting chipping. But as expensive as these are, the company needs to focus on better packaging. Tape down the bubblewrap and use smaller boxes or padding.Other than that... great product. Just be aware you might be doing some touch up on the paint job.

Quality Kemimoto Rack Solution. Excellent powder coating. Easy installation with the removal of 2 factory bolts and the rear side reflector, replace with new hardware and done. 10 minutes tops.Quality is exceptional however this is a hefty item. If you are thinking aluminum, light, like their cargo box or fender extension, this is a much heavier gauge metal. All good and makes for one solid carrier and you probably aren't worried about hurting your 0-60 time with weight since it's not getting to 60 anytime soon regardless :). Said with love for the Trail.. Overall rock solid, simple installation, tons of mounting options. What's not to like. Winner again. A+

This side rack is heavier than you might expect, and I mean that in a good way. First off, the rack and bracket are thick, measuring about .130”. And that makes it sturdy, and heavy. Mounting is simple - a pair of longer bolts with spacers mount into the ct125 rear rack in the location of the small factory tool box, and a side bracket picks up the mounting location of the left rear reflector. Installation takes ten minutes, you’ll need a 5mm hex and a 10mm box wrench, and maybe a 4mm hex if you want to use a better tool than the supplied Allen wrench. The instructions show the factory tool box being left in position, but the spacers aren’t really correct for that. The factory tool box is held on with shoulder screws, so the screws clamp down tightly against the rack without applying crushing force to the plastic tool box. The spacers in this side rack do not have a shoulder, so they will bear directly against the plastic of the tool box and I’d be worried the plastic will eventually fail. The solution would be to find/make a metal spacer to sit inside the mounting hole for the tool box, or to machine a shoulder onto the supplied spacers. Or you can simply remove the tool box - it doesn’t hold much anyway.The side rack is claimed to be made of stainless steel, and I’m not sure that is true. The material is very magnetic, so I don’t think it is a high grade stainless like a 300 series. Perhaps it could be a 400 series stainless? Either way, I’m not too concerned since the black powder coat appears high quality and my ct125 isn’t exposed to any high-rust conditions. Regardless of the questionable material claim, I’m giving this rack 5 stars based on the sturdiness, excellent fit, and utility for mounting fuel or storage containers.
