I use Universal 298854 and curious never seen the BF789 cross reference. Researching shows this listing is wrong. UNIVERSAL 298854 replacement is a BALDWIN BF940. I have used those and they are correct.

filter is not a good fit for a 5424. save your money!Only killer here is the money you lose.

This is an additional review of the company as well as the filter. I simply don't know anything about the filter because it is not a replacement for Universal Marine's 298854. I've had both filters next to each other, and this filter is far larger than the original equipment. You would think that would be enought for Killer to issue a full refund, but it wasn't. I paid more than $17.00 to return them and was charged a restocking fee even though I was told that I wouldn't be. Avoid this company and their filters like the plague.
