I’ve had my Klipsch speakers for nearly a decade. Recently noticed the foam around the sub had degraded to the point of tearing apart. Thankfully was able to save it with this, and the sub is back to sounding as good as it did 10 years ago. The repair can get a bit messy if you’re not careful, but as long as you follow their guide and take your time, the process is quite straightforward.

The speaker repair kit did not work. After careful installation following the instructions, the subwoofer was scratchy sounding and annoying to listen to. Poor quality and not worth the money

I bought my Klipsch promedia 4.1 system in 2001 and used it every day for 10yrs. Then it went into storage until last year, I brought it out for my home office and hooked it up, and it still sounded great at first, then suddenly the sub sounded like it was blown. After a bit of internet searching, turns out it was the old foam on the sub speakers that deteriorated, which brought me to this kit. The process is a little involved and you will need some DIY skills, there are videos on YouTube just search for klipsch pro media reform to make sure you are up for the task. This kit worked great though and has everything you need, and the sub now sounds just as good as the day I bought it, amazing little system. Also worth noting that simply speakers is awesome and stands by their product. I screwed up on one of the sub speaker refoams, and I texted the number from the simply speakers website and they gave me some tips on how to fix it. Then when I messed up the repair they sent me a replacement foam free of charge. Awesome customer service and definitely 5 stars for simply speakers customer service.

Originally when the speaker foam on my Klipsch sub started to disintegrate I thought I would have to replace the whole unit or replace the speakers at the very least. Started doing to lite research and discovered this kit via their YouTube instruction videos. Install was very simple. The steps were all well through out and documented. If I need to repair another speaker I will definitely buy this product again!

My subwoofer sounds just like new again, great repair kit. Watch their instruction video a couple times and commit yourself to about 2 hours. The replacement surrounds are superior to the original Klipsch surrounds and look like they should last longer and not deteriorate. As others have mentioned the speakers in the 4.1 subwoofer have the surrounds attached to the bottom of the cone. While more challenging, you can easily clean the surfaces and get a good bond to the bottom. Give the cement they provide time to get seriously tacky and keep working your way around. Centering is important but a little bit off is OK, as long as you don't hear a rub.I can now play the system at full volume again with tight, strong bass.Update- 3 1/2 months down the road and the sub still sounds awesome. Still sounds like new, and I blast my music, I sometimes play this at concert levels while practicing drums. No rattle, hum, or buzz, just sweet, deep bass. I can't recommend this enough.

I have a set of probably 10 year old promedia 4.1s (which have 2 drivers unlike the 2.1s). I ordered the repair kit, and set about replacing my rotted surrounds.Although I have knowledge of refoaming speakers, this was my very first set I have ever done. I can thankfully say, both drivers were successfully repaired, with no coil rubs. They do sound as good as new again.Like another reviewer said, I chose to install the surrounds on the cone in its original position, which is underneath. The only thing I DISLIKE about this kit, and almost gave it three stars because of it is the glue. In my honest opinion, I would NOT use the glue that came with this kit.The glue smells like plastic modeling glue. The problem is, it is way to sticky/tacky. Once your new surround contacts the cone with this glue applied, it is very difficult to adjust. And forget about using your finger to smooth the glue out like they show in the instructional video. WAY too tacky for that.I wish I would have tested the glue first before setting out to do the repair. After attaching the first surround to the first cone, I tossed the glue. I used elmer's white glue for the remainder of the repairs (surround to frame, and complete second driver.)Again, both drivers work fine, and sound just fine, but like another reviewer said.....there is no way to stay "neat" with the supplied glue. After I finished up and let dry overnight, you would have a hard time distinguishing the driver with the elmers glue from a factory driver. The driver repaired with the supplied glue is an ugly mess. The only bad thing about using elmer's, is you have to babysit the repair for 20min or so to make sure the surround stays in contact with what you are glueing it to, and doesn't lift up. Once it finally grabs and dries thoroughly, the results are worth it!

I bought this to install on a Klipsch Pro Media 4.1 system on the sub where both of the drivers in the sub cabinet had their old foam disintegrate after about 10 years. The were a bit tricky to install but not bad, just kind of fiddly and hard to be tidy with the quite runny glue (worked great, just hard to be tidy). The online directions and video are both better than what comes in the box so you should probably check that out too. The one things I did differently than the instructions was to attach the foam to the bottom of the speaker cone (where the original had been) instead of to the top where the instructions recommended. This made the glue a bit harder to apply but made it MUCH easier to center the new foam surround on the speaker cone.Overall a good product and a very good fit for this application if a bit expensive for what you get. Much cheaper than a new system though! The sub sounds great again, much better than it has in several years.
