I ma on a fixed income so I was looking to try and mitigate the $20(+) for genuine Les Davis dodgers. Saw these and the length was correct. So I gave them a try. Was on Lake Wentatchee in central Washington when I first tried one. I just pulled one out and the first one had the purple flash pattern on it. I have a tow rod endorsement so put this one on a rig, with the second rod using a Gold Star brand dodger that is nearly identical to the Les Davis dodger. The moment I hit 80 feet of water, I started lowering the rig. I do not have a down rigger so i was headed for 60 foot depth/80 'pulls'. I got to 40 pulls when I got hit and landed the first sockeye of that trip. It was a fast day and I was headed for the boat ramp after only two hours (with a few fish lost to barbless hooks). The purple KOKOPROS dodger accounted for half the fish.A week later, the fishing was much slower and the wind was miserable. Despite the electric trolling motor, it was hard to maintain directional stability at the slow sped necessary for sockeye salmon. I only caught two that day, before being blown off the lake. The KOKOPROS dodger got both of them.I did not add any additional 'bend' to the dodger and they worked well at the target speed of 1.1 mph. They are slightly wider than the Les Davis dodger, but that did not seem to negatively effect the action of the dodger. Bottom line : half the price, same number of fish. Used with ten ounces of weight on 40 lb braided line.
