After one use the bottom piece will no longer extend, and it is locked in place.

I haven't actually used this much yet, however it seems to be made of very high quality anodized and powder coated aluminum. The rings that tighten the sections of the pole to extend it seem exceptionally tight once twisted to lock the sections. I very much doubt they would slip in use. I'll update this review once I start using it more to see if my opinion changes.

I am 6'2" and it is long enough to serve as a monopod without my having to stoop over. That's great.

Monopod arrived on time and in good condition. It appears well made and performs as intended. I will be testing it in the real world on vacation this summer, where it may have to double as a camera monopod and a walking stick for my older knees.

Appears to be a very lightweight and stable monopod, reasonably priced. I use it for long focal length photos

We needed 2 lightweight mono-poles that would work well as a walking stick on both paved and dirt surfaces. We were going to the Grand Canyon and other National Parks including Zion and Bryce. I looked at numerous product alternatives and their reviews. Many of the reviews for other products complained that the camera post broke off and the camera was damaged. The Koolehaoda 64-inch Camera Aluminum Mono pod for All Canon Sony, Nikon met my needs. I have a heavy Nikon D50 SLR with a zoom lens and my wife has a small Cannon Power Shot SX260 HS camera. The threaded camera post on this product threads securely into the center of the handle and fits each of our cameras securely. It did a very good job of holding each of the cameras. The rubber foot on the pole also threaded into the shaft. This enabled me to remove it without any tools. I went to the local hardware store and bought 2 appropriately threaded bolts to fit the shaft. Two nylon nuts were also purchased. I used my grinder wheel to sharpen the bolt heads off to a point. A nylon nut was threaded onto each of the threaded shafts. The nylon inside the nut keeps it from moving. The enabled swapping the rubber foot for a spiked foot for better traction on the trail when needed. The pictures below show the finished products and a picture of a nylon nut.Remember that a mono-pole for a camera is not the same as a tripod. It is challenging to hold the mono-pod still but it can help. Both of our cameras have vibration assistance to compensate for movement. We used this product more for walking sticks than to hold our cameras. My wife and I will be able to use these poles for man years to come. I recommend them.

Sturdy, I'm not generally a fan of twist locks, but these have yet to slip or come loose on me. I like that the bottom foot unscrews (and is 3/8-16 threaded) from the monopod allowing you to screw it onto other feet and bases. The reversible threads at the top are a nice feature. I didn't think I would use it much, but I find myself using it all the time If I want to mount a ball head I can use the 3/8-16 side. If I want to mount a camera directly to it, a few quick twists and I'm using the 1/4-20 side.Max height is wonderful for me, I'm 6'7 and when used on a base and with a ball head I can look through the view finder with no troubles. My one complaint about this is the strap. When you swap the threaded tip, the strap comes off, as it is held in place my a fitted ring and the Nut and base at the top. I've actually lost my strap at this point because it fell off when I was swapping the threads and I just didn't pay attention.Even with that one minor issue, This thing is well worth the money. It's lightweight, sturdy even at max length, and packs some wonderful features.
