If you have the "easy ride" suspension, you do NOT want to lose your springs. You want to KEEP YOUR SPRINGS. If you use an "easy strut" - the kind where the spring is included, yes, it is less work, but you will end up horsing up your camber and raising your front by 2.5 inches or more, then you need a "kit" to adjust your camber, which will be all messed up.These struts (KYB 335037 Excel-G Gas Strut) only raised my front by 1/2 inch, because the old struts were "tired" and sagging a bit. These ones restored my original ride.SKIP all that. ORDER THESE STRUTS, change your springs over. You will not be sorry! I did it and am elated with the results.

Pros:Nice firm ride in Buick (original struts turned to mush after 40k miles).Allowed for rim upsize from 16" to 18" and still had clearance for slightly larger tire.No rolling in turns with these struts on 18's, as opposed to factory struts rolling like dough.Cons:Not really a DIY job for the "home mechanic" as you will need proper auto tools to change these safely.

I purchased these for my 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, along with a set of the KYB rear shocks, and the associated mounts. Originally, I had planned to do the work myself, but due to some health issues it all wound up going to my local service shop to get installed.End result: vastly improved ride and control. The ride is very controlled and yet, supple, for want of a bettter word. Fat road feel but not harsh. The folks at the shop that did the work indicated that the parts fit together with no issues, and the gentleman who took it for a test ride returned with a big grin.KYB has a winner with this setup. Thanks.

These shocks are built to exacting standards. They fit perfectly and improve the ride immensely. Anyone who has done struts knows that special tools are required to remove the springs and that you have to be extremely careful when working with compressed springs. Knowing that, these are a wonderful product.

A bolt-in replacement for the stock front struts on the 1998 Buick Riviera. These come with new top nuts, but the lower suspension knuckle bolts will be reused, as well as the old bump stop and boot/bellows. I installed this with KYB replacement mounts. I did need to retain the old cup-style washer that goes beneath the the new strut nut, as well as the round plastic wedge that spaces the mount from the spring. Upper and lower coil spring isolators/seats will also need to be purchased separately if they are too degraded to reuse them like I did. Thestruts for left and right are the same, as are the mounts. Replacing the struts and mounts made a tremendous difference in the ride and handling over the old worn-out ones. You will need spring compressors to replace these struts yourself.
