Ride Comfort may be important, but restoring a vehicle’s Ride Control; stability, stopping, lane change responsiveness and handling is critical. KYB Excel-G Shocks & Struts are designed for the most important performance purpose: Restoring the vehicle’s original capabilities. KYB is a world leading supplier of shocks and struts to new vehicle manufacturers and the Excel-G is made on the very same KYB OE assembly lines, uses the same OE quality components and is calibrated to restore original, designed performance, not change it. That has earned Excel-G the classification: OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket). The KYB Excel-G is a nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes every quality component that our global OEM products include and it is the preferred choice for Asian vehicles.

I was well over due for replacing my shocks, took a chance on these and had my mechanic install them. It was like driving a brand new car again. Granted, I replaced all four shocks and tires, but you get the idea. 10/10 would recommend

I just bought two of these shocks to replace the 01 accord v6 oem shocks which has 150k miles on it, and still hold up very well without any oil leak yet, but the honda and kyb shocks are known for getting firmer over time which made the car feel harsh and noisy on the rough road and bump. It took twice or triple the force to compress the old honda shocks compared to the new kyb one by hand, and rebounds are very slow as well. I recommend replacing all the rubber components found in the struts assembly with oem one, which cost additional $35 for both front struts. The old rubbers are hard as rock and may create noise with the new shocks installed.Overall, the ride quality are more comfortable and felt softer on the rough road or bump. Most people here commented the ride is firmer with new kyb shocks installed, but I felt otherwise, probably my old shocks are not completely blown yet and technically it's still doing job as dampening. It's just getting more dampening with over time until it's blown.

These are Great! Replacing the worn out OEM's with these KYB's was a great decision. First off these are quite a bit firmer than stock. If you keep the OEM springs like I did the springs are over-damped, but that's okay because the ride is great and the handling is improved. It totally changed my attitude towards my TL. I enjoy driving it more than I did before.

These shocks are listed as a replacement as for my Acura CL Type S. While they fit well and work fine they are definitely softer than the originals on my car. The manufacturer is obviously trying to make the product fit as many cars as possible. They may work fine as replacements for the standard Acuras but the valving in them is not as stiff as the OEM Type S. You will have a softer ride but will lose some of the precision of the Type S suspension.

I purchased two KYB Excel-G 341257 shock absorbers and two KYB SB108 strut boots to replace the worn 11 year-old OEM front struts on my 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe (with 137,000 odd miles on it). As pointed out by another reviewer, these parts are sold individually, not in pairs. They arrived in perfect condition. The actual color is black, not silver as depicted. That is fine by me. The OEM Honda struts are black too. Unlike the Honda OEM strut, the KYB 341257 is universal. That is to say there is no left or right strut per se. Why also order the SB108? The SB108 is KYB's recommended replacement for the OEM strut boot. I planned to reuse the OEM strut mount plates, so did not order the KYB replacements.Installation should ideally be performed by a professional. However, if you are handy like me, and have basic mechanic's tools, you can install these yourself. I got a free rental on coil spring compressors from a local auto parts store, so I didn't have to buy any tools. There are lots of strut replacement how-to videos online, so I won't cover every installation detail. Overall it is a moderately difficult job. Just be sure you know how to safely compress the coil spring (WARNING -- HAZARDOUS). I will offer a couple of suggestion to the DIYers out there: 1. Use three spring compressors (evenly spaced) instead of two. This will make it easier to compress the spring and give you a margin of safety. 2. Take some photos of the old OEM strut assembly as you take it apart, there are numerous parts to reassemble and you must install them in the correct order.I finished installing my new KYBs yesterday. Installation went smoothly. The KYB 341257 fit perfectly on the front driver's and passenger's side. And yes the SB108 is a good substitute for the OEM boot. The OEM strut mount plates were in good condition as expected. The improvement in ride quality is dramatic. I am really satisfied with the results. The clunking sounds from the front end are gone. The ride is firm yet supple. My Accord stays glued to the road in sharp corners. My Accord's nose used to dive if I had to stop suddenly. That is cured too. The Excel-G is made in Japan by Kayaba (hence the name KYB), so I expect good reliability. If you are looking for a high quality replacement shock absorber, the KYB Excel-G is worth considering. I just ordered a pair of KYB 341258 shocks for the rear.
