I just got these shocks for the rear, and to my surprise they are not made in japan. These are usa made version, and I am afraid the quality is not the same. I heard many negative reviews about kyb usa made version which don't last long due to oil leak. I wonder if there are any Japanese made version for this part number. Now I am kinda hesitate to put these in my car. The front kyb shock I recently replaced was Japanese made version though.

These are Great! Replacing the worn out OEM's with these KYB's was a great decision. First off these are quite a bit firmer than stock. If you keep the OEM springs like I did the springs are over-damped, but that's okay because the ride is great and the handling is improved. It totally changed my attitude towards my TL. I enjoy driving it more than I did before.

Ordered a pair of KYB 341258 Excel-G shock absorbers and KYB SB107 strut boots for my 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe to rebuild the worn OEM rear strut assemblies. Be advised the actual color of the Excel-G is black. In the box is the Excel-G shock, a small black bump stop, with a black plastic cap over it.Here are a few installation notes for the DIYers out there. I discarded the black bump stop and plastic cap that came in the Excel-G box. I used the SB107 kit in place of the OE strut sleeve and bump stop. I also had to bore a slightly larger top hole in the SB107 bump stop to fit over the shaft of the Excel-G shock absorber. Bottom line the Excel-G fit properly in my Accord kit with a minor mod to the SB107. Oh yeah be sure you know how to safely compress the coil spring before attempting this job!I had recently installed a pair of KYB 341257 shocks up front. Now that I have new Excel-G shocks in the rear, the transformation is complete. The Excel-G according to KYB is "calibrated to compensate for worn suspensions". In other words it is FIRM. The EXcel-G is MUCH firmer than the OEM shocks in my opinion. If you are looking for a soft cushy suspension look elsewhere. My V6 Accord rides more like a sports car now. Ride quality is mostly good. On rough broken pavement the ride can feel a little bit harsh at times. Overall I am satisfied.
