About this item

  • Maximum performance upgrade with up to 40% more damping performance than standard shock absorbers
  • Perfect solution when you need to upgrade suspension performance on your Toyota truck
  • Truck monotube design outperforms all other standard shock absorbers
  • Zinc-coated, stainless steel piston ring provides a positive seal in the most extreme conditions

Tough conditions demand tough truck shocks. The large bore KYB MonoMax provides the additional stability that heavier, more powerful or high center of gravity vehicles demand. The KYB MonoMax is a heavy duty monotube shock absorber that provides the most handling, control and durability of any KYB shock; and it’s just for trucks. The MonoMax’s tough design automatically adjusts to driving conditions with fade-free performance. The KYB MonoMax has an outstanding reputation for vehicles that do real work, go off-road, tow a trailer or haul heavy loads. It uses a work-ready, zinc-coated steel piston ring and includes an off-road dust boot.

When i first put these on my truck i thought i got burned. They seem to be make the truck more wiggly at rest and when you turn th wheel sharp they seem to have no resistance... Aah but thats these little guys way of tricking you. Cause after the initial surprize they hold as tight as a well diggers a$$.. Pretty soft ride too. Get em youll like em.

2001 Toyota Tacoma, Pre-runner, Standard Cab. Shocks are now 5 years old. The ride is a little stiffer than the original shocks but they are holding up well. Measured the bumper prior to and after the installation, no change in the measurement. For the novice, I believe KYB has this shock available with the spring already installed and would be much easier, quicker, and SAFER to install. I would recommend and buy this product again.

I like my vehicles mostly stock, no lifts, no crazy aftermarket stuff. I researched a lot to see what people said and most people said these shocks were too firm/stiff, I disagree. I put these on my 96 regarding cab 4x4 2.7 toyota tacoma and I am highly satisfied. My shocks were shot, these are nice, and great quality shocks. They ride awesome, pretty smooth, not jarring. I would recommend these to anyone.

I installed these struts on my 2001 Tacoma Prerunner . They were easy to install with the spring compressor I purchased along with these! The truck seems much more controlled and is great when hauling heavy loads in the back! The truck has 170,000 miles and these replaced the original Toyota struts that were completely worn out. The only issue I had was with the shipping method that JUST SUSPENSION used. All 4 shock and strut box's were taped together and both strut box's had huge holes ripped in them and the struts were marked up. Luckily they were not damaged, I read that others had this same issue with their orders as well, they need to really work on their packaging for these, I know the shipping is free but come on you can do better than this!!!!!

I purchased these shocks for the front suspension on my 1999 Tacoma extended cab truck. Its original Bilsteins were starting to sag. Since I don't have a coil spring compressor (necessary to put the shocks into the front springs), I had I shop install the shocks. They commented the only difficulty during the installation was with removing the rusted nuts and bolts from the old shock / spring assembly. With the shocks installed, the truck's handling is improved, especially on very curvy roads. It also rides better on the highway, but only a small improvement.

My truck was due for replacement, but I was looking at OEM and for those outrageous prices....hell no! So....I got these instead, saved a bunch and noticed that bumps don't send me flying in the air like they use to! Trust me don't read those dumb reviews...at least for my Tacoma they worked just fine. Now if your going 4 wheeling then these might not be for you. I just load my motorcycle on my truck and help people move every now and again; and they worked.

These shocks went on an 01 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner TRD and it's a great match. The Monroe shock it replaced was not up to the task of damping those stiff springs and on my truck, were junk. This KYB is really great and centers the truck up quickly after maneuvering where the Monroe let it keep moving around like an old 70's Lincoln town car!The only reason why it didn't get 5 stars? Mine were just shipped in the rice paper boxes they come in, the two taped together. The boxes were torn up, one shock was dinged and one of the bags was missing parts. I had to use hardware from the Monroe I took off because I never got an answer from the seller about it.You know UPS or whoever is going to play football with your box. It needs to be wrapped up better.
