The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

I bought some napa gold shocks for my 2005 Astro Van a few years ago, and they improved the ride quite a bit for a few years. As they aged and the ride returned to the bouncy castle on wheels feeling, I ordered these on the recommendation of a friend. I am more than please with the performance. These are by far the best shocks I have ever used for less than $100 each. These do the job, and don't cost as much as the blue and yellow brand. Smooth but stable ride. These and new HD leaf springs fixed my rear end sway problems.

Comparándolos con los oem los Kyb se sienten mas rígidos y en una van es bueno porque disminuye el bamboleo del chasis.

Installed in June 2018. Noticed one was leaking July 2019 (see oil spot in pic). Contacted factory for replacement and was instructed to return the defective one to Amazon for inspection. Meaning I was expected to return it at my expense and either drive without one shock or ? while someone determined it indeed is defective. An unreasonable expectation on their part methinks! KYBs will be replaced by Monroes on all four corners!

These are on the stiffer side which I like because handling is much improved. Good quality. I have the same pair on the front. I had the Monroe coil overs before And they only lasted a year or so before becoming too soft and pogo like

I install this product on an 05 Chevy Astro. I purchased the Astro new and now hAve 252k on the odometer. The van is occasionally used to carry heavy items to my rental properties, but also my daily driver. I didn't want a really harsh ride but wanted the extra control that this shock promised. I couldn't be more happy with the results. The van now has more control than any shock I've installed in it in the past, and the ride that is at least as good as past shocks have produced. The only negative is the installation. the shocks are highly pressurized and difficult to install. To install them, I measured the length of the existing shock. Next, i tide a string around the new shock so that it would stay in that position. while I installed it.I made fine adjustments with a hydraulic jack either lowering or raising the suspension on the particular wheel I was working on.

These fit up perfect on my 2 inch lifted astro van. No more sway and more Jelly roll. FYI, I added a 1 inch lift from airbagit using 2 inch shackles and added larger leaf springs. I was unable to compress them by hand in my garage (which is good). I had to lift my van off the ground and then used a crow bar to lift the shocks into the lower bolt. I would get these before the monomaxes for the rear unless you are regularly hauling heavy loads.

I installed these KYB Gas-a-just shocks on a 2000 Chevy Astro. I was looking for good control and firm, but not too firm, ride for my wife. We were replacing Monroe Sensatrac "lifetime" shocks that wore our very quickly. I've only had these a month and they have done excellent on the local rough roads and a recent 2,000 mile trip through the southern states. These shocks added to a rear swaybar that I added two years ago gave me confident control on winding roads in the Smokey Mountains. I am very pleased. Installation was a snap. I just handed them to my mechanic and said, "Here, install these." :-)
