Unfortunately the third string snapped whilst tuning.so that's why I only gave one star

I recently purchased 2 sets of these baritone strings. They were a good price and were delivered very quickly by "STRINGS ONLY". Today I came to fit the first of these 2 sets to my guitar only to find that FOUR of the strings showed very noticeable signs of rust - the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th. The 3rd string is excessively rusted in several places and the 1st & 2nd strings less so but still pretty bad. This is unacceptable, especially when the manufacturer makes these claims:ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SEALED PLASTIC PACKAGING : "La Bella's modified atmosphere packaging contains pure nitrogen to prevent the harmful effects of both moisture and oxygen, the primary causes of string tarnishing. Other packaging simply seals air inside, while La Bella's makes oxidation a thing of the past!"THE PAPER ENVELOPE WITHIN WHICH EACH STRING IS PACKED : "This envelope is protected by a special Vapor Barrier that will prevent damage from moisture".REALLY ?These claims are clearly BOGUS and prospective purchasers should be aware of this to avoid a repeat of my experience.I wish I had only bought one set of these instead of two for I'm pretty sure that the second set will replicate the first set in terms of quality.It remains to be seen how long these strings will last - the rust suggests not very long.I do not blame the seller of these strings in any way for my bad experience. This is a manufacturing issue.I would award these strings no stars if I could. Poor quality!I will NOT be buying these again - I do not wish to waste my money a second time.Buyer beware!UPDATE 22.2.2018.Further to this review I contacted the seller to make them aware of the issues with these strings. They acknowledged my message and stated : "ok thank you these are all new strings purchased from LAbella".I then contacted La Bella directly via their website ( in the USA ) and received this reply :"Thank you for your email and sorry to hear this happened. It sounds like you were sold and extremely old stock of strings by that retailer. We adopted different packaging about 3 years ago that is completely tarnish proof. We would be happy to mail you replacements. Please let us know where.In the future please give us a chance to rectify the situation as we do not have direct control over all of our products sold on a Amazon as they are sold through multiple channels before arriving to the consumer. "I declined their kind offer as this would be inordinately expensive but thanked them for their reply. I also pointed out that the strings "WERE sealed and packaged exactly as shown on the Amazon listing. This leads me to believe that they were not old stock, as you allege."I also advised that I would add further comments to my adverse Amazon review.Draw your own conclusions from this additional information.I have changed my "star" rating for these strings from 1 star to 2 stars based entirely upon the manufacurers response.UPDATE TWO.I have just received a further update from La Bella which states:"The person who created the listing just copied and pasted the info from our website. The image on the Amazon listing doesn't match our new packing either, which would have this new type of packaging. So the product was likely very old."This shows how easy it is to be fooled by listings. I was clearly sold old stock. However, the packaging on the strings still makes strong claims with regard to quality and longevity and the La Bella website STILL SHOWS THE "OLD" PACKAGING!The bottom line is therefore this ................ DO NOT BUY LA BELLA STRINGS WITH PACKAGING AS ILLUSTRATED IN THIS LISTING AS IT IS OLD STOCK!UPDATE THREE.LaBella have contacted me again to confirm that the packaging image for these strings on their website is indeed the "old" packaging image (as shown in this Amazon listing) and not the slightly revised look which the "new" packaging now has. I have added a copy of the "new" packaging image for comparison purposes with the "old" packaging image.
