I bought a 3.55 axle and speedo gear out of a 1999 crown victoria for my 2001. Apparently 2001 requires the 21 tooth purple gear.Easier than scouring the junkyard for it.

My speedometer quit working and I’ve been trying to find the causes. Finally did, and it was a worn out drive gear. Thankfully I was able to order both the drive gear and the driven gear I needed for them. I have a 1987 ford f150 4x4 with a 3.55 rear end. I need a 7 tooth drive gear and a 15 tooth driven gear. I couldn’t find a 15 tooth so I went with a 16 tooth. Installed both and so far everything is working perfectly.

My speedometer was 5mph fast. Installed this driven gear and now it matched perfect with GPS speeds. Install into ford C6 transmission.

When I discovered why the speedometer stopped working I wondered where would I be able to fine another. Stewart Warner was stamped on the cable. Looked them up on the internet and they had one. Saved the day.

Needed a new speedo gear for my 1970 Mustang, AOD transmission. Had a 17 tooth and it was way off. Went online, did several speedo gear calculators, landed on a 21 being the closest. Checked with a smartphone GPS app, the speedometer is off 1mph when I’m driving above 60mph. Very pleased with the accuracy in a 50+ year old vehicle. Easy to install.

Nice, I ordered the gear but it came with the O ring also and have not installed just yet
