After 5 years with the original Lenovo keyboard on my ThinkPad T580, it finally gave up the ghost with a stuck "L" key. This was my first attempt at a replacement.I've made a lot of technology purchases over the years, but I can't recall having bought a product worse than this one. Total ownership on this is 4 days at this point, and I'll be returning it as soon as the Lenovo-original replacement arrives. The biggest non-starter to me is the "TrackPoint". This isn't remotely a TrackPoint. The Lenovo (and IBM before that) TrackPoint is a beautifully-designed precision navigation device that allows the cursor to be positioned far faster and more accurately than can possibly be done with with a touchpad device (yes, even Apple's vaunted hardware). It takes the average user half-a-second to move their fingers from the keyboard to a touchpad, and the same amount of time back. That adds up to a lot of wasted time when you consider that the TrackPoint on the home-row of the keyboard allows almost instantaneous access.Unfortunately, this keyboard's "TrackPoint" is nothing like a ThinkPad's. It's like navigating with an Atari 2600 joystick with only 8 directions to work with. Selecting text on a real Lenovo keyboard is effortless, but it can take up to 10 seconds of "fighting" the stick on this keyboard before positioning it where you need it.That alone would knock at least 2 stars off for me, but I know many people don't use the TrackPoint. Don't worry - It has enough deficiencies to earn a 1-star no matter what type of user you are.Backspace key is stuck in the down position after 1 day.Left and right mouse buttons rarely work on the first try without pounding them.Backlighting .... I don't know what the heck this is. Let's call it "underlit". The light pours out from under the keyboard, causing enough glare that you can't read the keys when it's lit - That kind of defeats the purpose. Not to mention the weird orange lighting under the F1-F4 keys that you can't turn off.Just ... no.

Replaced Lenovo P52s 20LB built-in backlit keyboard with this one. All keys and backlight work perfectly. Keyboard connector ends of this product was of even higher quality than original. Overall great value.

I got this to replace the keyboard on my Lenovo ThinkPad P52s. Replacement was very easy, and fits and functions perfectly fine. However, the keys feel cheap and squishy compared to the original. Most likely I will order another keyboard direct from Lenovo, and keep this as a backup.
