We tried to make this work for our boat, but couldn't use it. We don't have a windshield, but thought we could still make it work. However my father's boat has a windshield and we were easily able to install it. This works really nice. We take our son out tubing a lot and now my husband can be driving the boat and still see my son on the tube. Of course I still need to spot, but he can see when hit hits the big waves and flies up in the air and still face forward.

I found this mirror extremely helpful when pulling the kids on the tube behind my boat. I kept getting a sore neck from trying to look over my right shoulder. I mounted the mirror at the far right of of the windshield (bowrider right side steering) and it helps me see everything from center to the right behind the boat and then i can see center left as well when i am seated. If i need to see far left i just turn my head. If i am standing I can't use the mirror. The build quality is good, its a sturdy mirror that has decent versatility. The downsides are a few.1- After about 3 uses there is already rust showing up on the mounting screws and the extension arm.2- The mount is configured as if you were going to mount it on a surface that was 90 degrees like a shelf. So if you mounted it on a shelf you could adjust the angle of the mirror up or down at 45 degrees. BUT a boat windshield is at a 35 degree angle so you really only get about 10 degrees of adjustment down or you can point it directly towards the sky if you wanted to signal the space station. Practically speaking it works good for me because i am 6'2" but my wife who is 5'2" can't get the mirror to adjust down enough for her to see out of it.3- The mounting screws don't have any type of foot between the end of the screw and the aluminum of the windshield frame. When you tighten the screws it will dig into the windshield frame. I have a 32 year old boat so this isn't a huge concern for me but owners of newer boats might feel differently.Overall i gave it a 3, If it were 10 dollars cheaper that would move it to a 4 star, a 5 star would need to address the rust and mounting.Note to manufacturer:I recommend adding a foot to the screws to prevent damage to the aluminum windshield frames and make the materials out of aluminum and stainless for corrosion prevention.

I've always wanted to be able to see if my fishing pole is taking a hit when trolling, but not always able to keep a good eye on it. This mirror remedies that problem really well. I'm sure it will help you in other sports like water skiing, etc... It fits fine on my T-Top's 1 1/4" aluminum crossbar. Sits solid with no shaking. Good view to both sides behind you with the slight curve of the mirror Seems well made and the hardware clamps are solid.

It's a nice mirror but it is most certainly NOT convex.

Screws are not long enough to attach to the window. Sending it back.
