The Macro Converters are compatible with all Lensbaby lens bodies and optics, making macro photography available to all new and existing Lensbaby photographers with multiple options above and beyond the existing Lensbaby Macro kit. The Lensbaby Macro Converters include an 8mm converter and a 16mm converter. They can also be stacked together to make a 24mm converter. The Macro Converters simply screw into the Lensbaby lens body – and then the optic screws into the converter. For a list of maximum close focus distance when the Macro Converters are used with various Lensbaby lens bodies and optics, please see the chart below.

Product came damaged. Boo. Looked like it was repacked/refurbished too.

These converters are a part of the LensBaby 'system' and as such, are probably worth having if you are building the system. They work well for me with the Composer Pro lens body. Inserting and removing the converters from the body is a tricky process that presents a bit of a learning curve at first and will probably be forgotten if you don't use them often (there is video instruction available online). In my assessment there is no technical advantage over the use of generic extension tubes which are much easier to use. I would recommend them to anyone who uses the LensBaby Composer and is NOT on a tight budget, as you can obtain functional extension tubes for less. If I had to do it again I would likely choose these for use with my LensBaby.

It would have been nice to know this didn't come with an actual lens. FYI this is basically just the bones and the lenses are sold separately.

These work so perfectly for macro photography. I use mine with my Control Freak and I'm in love. A little hard to get in and out of the lens, but it gets easier with practice. Make sure to watch a tutorial video if you're having trouble- if you force it you could break the lens.

This set up will allow you to get ver close and get some beautiful shots. I love the dreamy looks of the pictures but I'm still able to get to play with details and more dramatic affects by simply shifting in very small increments. Highly recommended to anyone who simply wants to have a little bit of fun composing and shooting. No stress, just pure delight.

The lensbaby alone is amazing, paired with this you can take unbelievable photos. It bring the focus distance in from 18 inches to a little less than 3 inches. I always keep them stacked, because I don't think that you would ever want a only semi macro lens. It stacks nicely like all other lensbaby products.

Took some awesome macro pictures with my LensBaby Sweet 35 optic which would not be possible.without this converter. The only con was that I could not get it off the Sweet 35 optic (the silver ring) but learned a trick of the trade from Doug Sahlin's Lensbaby book that got it right off.

to Lensbaby composer Pro with Sweet 35 already, like I was, then there is no way around the macro converters. In order to have full use, or more variety of the Composer. I was really evaluating the idea of spending another $ 50.- on the LB system, but I did, and I did not regret. The macro quality is really good. It is never easy to take macro anyway, and you have a shallow depth of field with a conventional macro sysyem, unless you have tons of light. So if I compare the LB macro with conventional macro results, quality wise LB is not behind. Artistically LB macro does convince of course even more. Not only that you have the blurry parts of the small DOF, no, you have the LB Bouquet, which is more like a radiant blur, I just love it. Ok, placing the sweet spot is not easy, but with some practise it will come.
