  • High lighting and nutrients along with a higher iron content will bring out more red tones in the plant

  • Ships 6-20" tall rooted in cotton which should be removed prior to planting

Ludwigia natans is an easy to grow, live freshwater aquatic plant for planted aquarium aquascapes. The "Super Red" variant of this species produces a vibrant, deep red coloration when provided with high light and balanced nutrients. We like to use Super Red in the mid-ground or background zones of the aquarium. One bunch includes 5-8 stems and is gently wrapped in sponge with weight.

When we ordered we oreded three plants we opened this one last and we were amazed at the size of the plant as well as how well they kept it together. We definitely want to get a few more for the 55 gallon aquarium. Highly highly recommend buying these for the mid to back of your aquarium!!!

The stems were quite short, but they gave me a dozen of them, so it's fine. Looks nice in my tank and my fish like it.

I ordered these a couple of months ago and I think I got the full amount. A couple of cuttings didn't make it, but the growth of the ones that lived has been very steady. These are my experimental bio jars, so I'm just trying to see if these would work for a possible botanical society event. I also got the 10 rams horn snails on amazon and they have been doing great outside of the two I lost. They had what seems like 100 babies last week and are doing well!

I ordered this plant twice and both times it died and left a huge mess in my tank and filtration system. It was not cheap and having to clean up my tank and filtration system repeatedly, as the plant was shutting leaves until it was nothing, was highly annoying and time consuming. I later learned from a local fish store that when buying plants online you need to know how hard your local water is, and the water hardness of the place where your plants are being sold from. Apparently, if you put a plant that was raised in softer or neutral water into hard water it will cause damage to the plant. Some plants that are more sensitive to this will not make it, and they will die. I am guessing because they looked healthy when I put them in that it is because of this that the plants did not make it. However, this kind of information and knowledge should be clearly displayed with your products if you are selling aquatic plants, so that customers could be informed and knowledgeable about what choices they make. I gave this product to stars because it did come healthy, but there was no information displayed anywhere, explaining what water hardness can do to this product.

Plant was healthy when it arrived, but it had no roots. It is taking a lot of effort to keep it planted while it grows as it wants to float to float to the surface when disrupted by my Beta fish. It has been a month, but still not sure if it will thrive or eventually die...it is hard to establish without roots from the start.

This is after one day of being in the tank. I had to remove the stems every time I get home. I have about 3 inches of substrate and I cannot for the life of me get the plants to sit in the sand. They do not grow in substrate like they are advertised to. Im guessing I bought a plant that someone cut the important bits off of. I will never buy a plant online again. My time and money is more important than this. I’ll be going to my local pet store so I know what I’m buying from now on. I can’t even get a refund from the seller unless I file with them specifically. Nah I’m good, like I say, my time is more important to me than that. You can have my 8 dollars, you won’t be getting anymore from me.

The plants did add vibrant color to my aquarium, but this batch arrived with snail eggs. I do know that this is a risk when purchasing live aquarium plants, but it was still disappointing to see. I purchased some loaches to take care of the snails, and we will see how that turns out.
