It is an AC-DC 110V to 1.25V-12V LM317 Adjustable Step Down Power Supply Buck Voltage Converter LED Display DIY Kit. It can output stable voltage. Users can change output by operating a potentiometer. It also can be used as a signal generator or logic circuit or buzzer alarm circuit.
Note:
1>. It is a DIY kit so that needs finish install by the user.
2>. Its max output power is 2.5W.
3>. It can not be used as a charger.
Since the output current is not large, it can only supply power to the small current circuit.

My students thoroughly enjoyed these. 2 arrived with the clear plastic cases cracked. Poor packaging by vendor or amazon.Better instructions would cost pennies and would be the only improvement I can think of.

It provides 200mA. I guess you can use it as a test input for something but why would you. I guess if youre broke and cant afford a variable power supply. Disappointed

This kit is easy enough to assemble with all through hole components. It's moderately useful for powering low current applications. There's a few additional, undocumented features that are best researched with your favorite search engine to gain a better understanding of what they are.

My grandson is at an age where he is curious about science projects. I found his interests involve electrical circuits so I've been slowly adding more and more complex tasks during his visits to our home. I put together a kit of electrical circuits that uses batteries and tbey were becoming drained very quickly. So, when I found this, it became a no-brainer that this is an example of how to solve a problem using ... circuits.The kit comes nicely packaged with all things packaged in like bags. The components are easy to sort and the instructions make it a simple "Monkey-See / Monkey-Do" project. A Pen Iron, some solder, some de-solder braid, a magnafying light, and some room is all that is needed. The kit takes about an hour to complete and viola... a power supply for simple projects is now complete.I like the fact that the kit comes with a clear box. This makes it so easy to see and read the information from the LEDs to the digital readout.The parts are all well-made and the overall usage level is a 10. Just know that this is for powering projects only and is not intended to be used as a charger in any way.
