This cooling fan works by attaching a power source to it, and it seems to run by cooling the base plate that is meant to be connected directly to your phone. The cooling is very effective especially if you have a phone that heats up quite a lot. This works very well and attaches directly to the back of your phone via clips or if you have a magsafe phone, it kind of works that way too.

This cooler is unique in that it serves as a peltier style cooler for smart phones or small devices. That being said, I had trouble getting it to stay on any device I tried with it either magnetically or with the included clips. It just did not want to make solid contact. What I did figure out a use for it, that being retro-handheld devices that get warm. I put this on my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro and it did make pretty significant differences in the ambient temperature of the device. That being said, it reduced the overall portability of the device. It did not improve overall scoring on the device but what it did do is allow the CPU to remain at higher boost clocks longer periods. Good little device but it could use an on/off switch (there is non) and could use a small battery to power it as you need to be constantly connected to a wall outlet to use this which means if your device is also connected ... now you have two cords.

I really like this because it's so simple to use. I like that it displays the fan speed level as well as the temperature of the plate. Huge plus that it is so light and non bulky when using it

This little phone cooler is really fun looking and works great. My daughter's "burner phone" is an old iphone 5s and it gets hot very quickly. This tiny fan was just the thing it needs! Great value for the price.

My original review is quite harsh however should note that it requires a USB a to USB cable a USB c to USBC cable will not work also it is not rechargeable

Updated review after receiving replacements:I tested out two styles and I'm happy to say they both worked and cooled my phone. The one that displays the temperature (square version) stayed between -4 and 1 degrees for the 15 minutes I had it connected to my phone. It does need to be plugged in to both USB-A and USB-C to function. That's the only thing I didn't like about them. I would prefer to use it by just plugging it into the phone without having to have it plugged in at the same time, but I got around this by using an external power bank. It gets very cold and cooled down the phone quickly. This is great when phones start to overheat after taking too many videos and photos at concerts and other events.Original review:I had such high hopes for this phone cooler. I take a lot of photos and videos when I'm at events and when traveling and sometimes my phone gets a little hot. I thought this would help cool it down. When I first turned on the unit, I could see the temperature decreasing and it felt cold to me. However, when I stuck it to my phone which already has a magnetic case, the unit seemed to go down in temperature but not nearly as much and it felt hot to the touch. When I removed it from my phone, the cooling unit was very hot and it started shocking me. I cannot recommend this based on my experience. Maybe I got a dud, but it feels too dangerous to attempt another one.

This absolutely earns 5 stars as it quickly cools down (the phone and offers a sticker for those who do not have the “MagSafe ADDITIONALLY I found I could put it on the bottom of my phone so w could run a magnetic charger up top and the cooler on the bottom. It has a pleasing design and performs as promised an upgrade I would suggest would be t9 incorporate the charging and cooling into one unit. Until then if you feel your phone getting a bit warm, snap this on for 5-10 minutes and you should be good to go (for the average user). Definitely a good choice.
