I've used this as my primary throne for a little over 2 years. It just broke last week. Something I would expect from a budget throne, but at this price point something like this should be a lifetime item. It's not.The part that broke is the casing around the pole clamp (the pole with the screw threads for adjusting height). The part of the casing that broke is clearly made out of some cheap material like aluminum alloy or hard plastic, hard to tell, but it's weak and cheap, not steel like the rest of the hardware on the throne. It snapped right off and now the clamp does not hold the pole in place. Why on earth would they not use steel for that part too? It doesn't render the item useless, but it loses that feature. Not a huge deal, but now I can't set it to be stationary, it swivels freely no matter what. Again, not a big deal for a budget throne, but for this price, and a brand like Ludwig, I expected more.A friend of mine has the exact same throne that he purchased at a dealer in-store. The casing on the clamp on his throne is all steel. No alloy or plastic. So, I don't know if this item is just made with junky Chinese parts or what, but it is not the same as the quality version of this item, which apparently does exist. I would recommend buying directly from the dealer.The padding on the seat is ok. It provides cushion, but it sinks about an inch or two over the course of a few minutes. So if you set it to the height you want, you have to reset it again after a couple of minutes.So, I believe this particular throne, bought from this page on Amazon, is just a cheaper, junkier version of what appears to be the quality versions, which I assume are sold by Ludwig directly.This item has a cool look, but other than that, I wouldn't value it over $60 at most. $190 is highway robbery for an throne that breaks after two years.

Great throne- no complaints!! The padding is bit spongy- if you like that as opposed to a more immobile feel, this throne's for you. Alejandro

Very solid, sturdy and FaBuLoUs looking drum throne. I can now play for hours without my back aching. Made a HUGE difference for me.

Super throne .looks good .no slippage. I am 230 pounds very comfortable. Can play without feeling movement of the seat.

The Ludwig logo was stitched on the seat surface brought out a high class taste. The stand is still too heavy to carry the throne around.
