I ordered these Lund nerf bars to replace the failed ones on my 2012 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I was looking for something very specific, since my OEM running boards that came on my truck were not mounted by drilling holes through the lower rocker panels. The original boards were mounted on large J hook brackets that bolted to the frame. Many of the boards I initially found required drilling support holes in the lower rocker panel. Enter the Lund 23083781 Black Steel 3" Round Bent Nerf Bars. These bars had mounting brackets that lined up to existing holes in the frame rail. Additionally, they did not require any holes in the rocker panel for support brackets. They were easy to install (about 2 hours including taking the old ones off) and look really good. One star off for some missing hardware, but I was able to source the missing parts at a local hardware store. One portion of the mounting step is a little rough - it required removing the forward cab bolt that secures the cab to the frame. This bolt was super tight and required a large breaker bar, but once broken free the bars went on like a dream. They are painted, so I'm not sure on durability and longevity of the finish of these nerf bars, but I do plan on keeping the truck for a while. I'll report back as time marches on.

Look good on my Ram 1500 Big Horn. Installation was pretty easy,would have been better if they had sent all of the hardware. We'll see how they hold up.

We purchased these same running boards a few years ago, love the look. They rusted in one spot and became weak, hence the reorder. BUT we live a block from the Atlantic Ocean. Rust is a way of life.

These are priced right, easy to install, are just the right height, and are unobtrusive to look at. They've held up very well so far and make all the difference in the world with regard to making it much easier to get in and out of my Ram 3500 (it's a long way up to the seat folks!).

The bars themselves are ok. They are made of a lightweight, tubular metal. The step portion is a rigid plastic instead of a rubber, gripped step. The steps are kind if cheaply made, but explains the low price. The instructions were kind of difficult to follow and the illustrations deliver more confusion than assistance. Packaging was a bit shoddy as well and one of the bars has a very deep dent. I think you could find better bars from a different company.

Got these for my '13 Ram. Fit great, look awesome and have held up against rust and salt in Illinois winters. This is my 3rd set of Lund nerf bars from Lund and I will definitely be getting a set for my future trucks.
