It's a fantastic kit. If you're experienced or a beginner you get everything you need to not fight your woven work. The shears and clippers are sharp and strong and both the awl and the flat blade are well made. Clippers cut through coiled paper as well as rushes, splints and small branches with ease. I think the little clear tubes for coiled baskets are a nice touch. Will serve me for quite a while.

This is a well made basic kit. I am adding to the kit, but the items that are there are good quality and is enough for a basic repair. There are some ways to prepare the materials that require other tools. But if the material for the weave can be repaired then this kit is the perfect kit for the repairs.

This is a good sturdy little set of tools and great for baskets but crafts people will probably find a lot of other uses for the tools. I know I will.One thing has me baffled . I have no idea what the closing brackets are for. I've made a lot of different kinds of baskets over the years and have never come across this tool before. Perhaps it has to do with repairing rattan (which I've never done). I did a quick google and can't find any reference to them. It doesn't take away from the tool set which is a good value even without those. It's just a curiosity.

I am just getting into basket weaving and this kit has most of what I need. The whole set is in a nice little plastic box rather than in a plastic bag with nothing to store them in. The kit works for willow chair repair, rattan weaving, willow weaving, basket weaving, home rattan chair repair, or willow chair repair. You get cane guides, cane scissors, thread scissors, hollow needles, an awl, a vine weaving knife, finishing tubes and a clear storage box. I did not get the 2 sharp needles they mentioned but that is no problem. The tools furnished are nice and will be a great help making baskets for me. Nice set!

I am very new to weaving and I found this kit super helpful! I love how sturdy the clippers are and they can cut all the medium I've been using so far (twisted paper and cane mostly). The awl and pry bar are helpful when trying to get into tight spaces and they seem very sturdy. I haven't figured out how to use the "closing brackets" and I don't have any pine needles to try the tubes yet but they look like they would make that much simpler. I know this kit will be used for some time.
