Purchased this item for my 2011 F150 FX4. The problem with this tip is that the inlet side (where you slide the tip over your tail pipe) is large enough to fit a three inch pipe, but due to the double wall construction, the outlet end is less than three inches, probably about 2.75 inches. The only way I can think of to make this work on a three inch pipe would be to cut off about five inches of your tail pipe. This is the first exhaust tip I have encountered that gets narrower toward the outlet end, but it is also the first double wall type tip I have ever purchased so maybe that is normal?As always Amazon was very easy about the return.
