I wanted to like this, I've seen the clips online of meatball making and this just seemed like it was going to revolutionize how I portion out my sausage balls/patties. But it just didn't work for me. The pork sausage I was portioning out would not squeeze through the hole in the middle, and instead the spoon just plunged deeper into the mass. Possibly too much surface tension?I was really hoping I could make nice neat little meatballs to put in my patty press, but I couldn't get even one meatball out of this spoon. If it had've worked, it would have made it so much easier on me not having to dirty gloves over and over again. Or wash the crud off of my bare hands after it inevitably sticks to every surface it touches. The task of using two spoons and never having to touch the meat product sounded too good to be true I guess.I believe there's probably another more complicated sprung contraption out there for plunging into ground meat and making small portioned meatballs I'd probably look to one of those if I feel like making them by hand is too tiresome again in the future.

This meatball spoon works better than I expected. First, it is very large, so makes large meatballs. You just place the spoon under the meat and pull it toward you to get the size you want. It works well with added ingredients in the mix, too. It is stainless steel, so can be put into your dishwasher. The finished product looks like professionally made meatballs. The price is very good for the product, and I am very happy with it. I would definitely purchase another one if needed.
