We bought this to hold a Samsung Frame TV in the living room and for that purpose it's a sturdy, good looking piece of furniture. If that's what you want, this is a good alternative to far less secure looking stands or more expensive Etsy buys.As someone who has painted a fair bit too I wouldn't recommend this for artists. The puzzling parts are the ones that secure and adjust for canvas size. The instructions and the actual holes for screws are not the same in places and some parts we're still trying to figure out why they're necessary. And be sure you have a mallet and drill because not all the holes were fully done and the frame needed a bit of convincing, but not to the point I'd call it warped. We'll be adjusting it for the TV once. But if I were going to do this repeatedly, didn't enjoy messing around with furniture building, or wasn't pretty strong or in good health I wouldn't recommend it for a lot of artists. Go for one with a slider with that is either less heavy or has more means of controlling the slide like a crank. But it does look great. The Pros:-Heavy-Seems sturdy- Their parts decisions make for a lot of time sink. Instead of pre-sinking metal inserts you have to insert, visually align and then keep watch and adjust with a screw driver to make sure the screw can get into a hole. The Cons:-Instructions are terrible! The diagram and actual product don't necessarily match. Some parts I'm still trying to understand 'why'. Keep the ad photos next to you and continue to reference them.- you'll want a drill for the unfinished punches and a mallet occasionally- remember not to tighten anything too tight, you might be re-doing it a few times.- If you aren't patient with building, get someone who is to help

Prodcut is very well built and designed. Used it on a very large diagonal painting and it kept the project stable through out the job. Easy setup and to use.

Very heavy duty. Putting together was easy; all parts were marked, and instructions were good. Had one slight problem. One of the holes drilled for the nut was not deep enough or had some shavings left in it. A tap with a punch and hammer and it went right in.Love the simple design, easy to move up and down and don't have to level it every time you change something.Definitely the right choice for me.
