The true test of these bits are seeing how well they work on hardwood. Using a medium speed setting on a drill press, all of the forstner bits worked well. Medium pressure of the drill press on the smaller sizes and lighter pressure on the larger sizes. Edges were clean without chipping out and all the bits had an adjustable depth gauge. This depth gauge is adjusted using an enclosed allen key and the set comes in wood box for storage. Overall a good set with a range of common sizes.

I don’t have a project for these bits currently, but I tried them out on some pine scraps are they are more than adequate for installing hinges. Mine weren’t as pretty as the product images, but the points and edges were all sharp, and didn’t cause any chipping or tear out.The depth gauges work as intended, and I’m pleased to see some forethought where they can be lined up with the bit’s blades and the set screw doesn’t hit the measurements. I didn’t get serious with the measurements themselves, but they all stood up to a cursory check against my tape measure. My only suggestion would be to put painters tape down around the area you’re going to drill if you rely solely on the depth gauges because some of the edges are sharp enough to leave a blemish, even with light pressure.

Die Forstnerbohrer machen einen sehr guten Eindruck in ihrem schönen Holzkästchen und ja, schneiden tun sie auch ausgezeichnet. Habe zwar noch nicht alle verwendet, aber die drei die ich bisher genutzt habe, haben ihre Sache perfekt gemacht. Keine Ausrisse zu verzeichnen und scharf sind sie auch nach mehreren Schnitten, auch in Hartholz immer noch.Kann ich auf jeden Fall für den Hobbybastler empfehlen. Ob Profis damit langfristig arbeiten können, kann ich nicht beurteilen.
