I seriously don't understand the good reviews on this lens, I would love to see what photos they come out with, for some reason I found the depth of few super shallow even at higher apertures.

I am just getting into macro photo/video and I debated between getting extension tubes or a dedicated lens. It always blows my mind when I shop for lens at how much a person can spend on some glass. Then I found this lens with a price that made it very affordable for a budget minded guy like myself to try out.I must say that I have been very impressed with my initial shooting experience taking shots of coins, flowers, insects etc. I plan on using this to take close up shots of budding and flowering plants and I think that I could not have made a better choice without spending more than $500.

I have used various Meike extension tubes for years with no complaints. Absolute low tech but gets it done. I wanted a MF lens for my Sony FX30 to do watch review videos....Great quality and macro focusing ability! I wish there was electrical connections to facilitate EXIF but for the price all I can say this is GREAT VALUE.

… unfortunately I got a little over zealous and bought APS-C instead of full frame 😅

Takes sharp pictures and focus throw is very precise until you get down to infinity. Not a good lens for shooting portraits with. But fantastic for macro. I added this 49mm threaded lens hood on for flares as well as being able to use a regular lens cap. Lens is built very well and is very smooth. Feels like a 300-400 dollar lens.

I love this lens. All manual and very smooth focus and iris. The focus throw isn’t too big and can be pulled by one hand easily. It gets the focus very close and is very small and easy to work with.

I knew there was a problem when I noticed that the box and not been properly sealed. The temperature and the focusing rings were very greedy and did not turn smoothly. Neither of the calibration rings were properly set which is a huge problem for a manual lens. And the lens was absolutely filthy when I unpacked it. It had white dust and dirt all through it and it was pretty much impossible to clean. Are used to get great results from Meike lenses but lately they seem to be having a quality control problem. When I reached out for customer service they were less than helpful. So I don’t know what to tell you but I think I’m no longer going to be buying this brand of lens.If you’re going to be dealing with things like improper calibration you are going to need proper support and I did not get that.
