Bought this as a more affordable gun belt magnet, you know, throw tactical in the title and double the price. It has a decently strong magnet that securely holds a metal mag, even when moving. Doesn’t hinder removal for a fast grab, but it is sticky. Has a rubber coating so no metal on metal contact. Top bend for the plastic clip allows the top of the piece to sit flush w the top of the belt, but that also means the bottom of the clip sticks below the belt a bit, but no more than say a bladetech plate. It works.

I compared this to the Holstery MagMaster Pro, which is the best magnetic tool belt accessory I have found. The MagMaster can hold a 12 inch bar clamp in place while walking around the work site. Other tool belt magnets have failed that test, but this one passed it. The design and construction seem sufficiently rugged. I would recommended this item.

Sometimes you need an extra "hand" to hold a small tool or a few nails or screws when doing a project. For me, that usually entails jamming something into a pocket or, worse yet, using my mouth to hold the nails/screws as I am putting them into place. I've tried those magnetic wrist bands, that are supposed to hold such items briefly, but found they failed to hold anything heavier than a paperclip.Not so with this magnetic tool holder from Melotough. It is sturdy and very well-made. It clips over your belt (easy on and off) and holds in place. I tried several tools and hardware to see how they stayed on the clip. All stayed in place - even when I moved about. I attached a pic of a small sledge hammer, that I own, and it stayed on the clip without moving or falling off. I'm quite chuffed with having this in my tool cabinet.For the price, this is a really good addition to your tool box.
