My sweet husband is always cold at work. I bought this sweater for him and he loves it. He is 6’3” with a long torso. This sweater fit him perfectly with enough length in the arms and torso which he has a hard time finding in most garments. It is a slim fit, not much ease, and it looks great on him. It’s incredibly soft! He feels like a teddy bear when he wears it.It laundered beautifully on hand wash in my machine and I hung it over three bars on my Sheila Maid airer (if you don’t have one of these, they are fabulous!). Merino doesn’t have to be laundered too often. Just hang it out to air now and again and spot clean as needed. I think it will last a long time with this proper care. This is a lightweight sweater but don’t let the light weight fool you. He stayed toasty warm all day!He loved it so much, he said he wanted more, so I bought a blue one too. I’ll be back for a black one after I save enough for it. Maybe I’ll even get myself one!

Simply put, perfection! It’s soft, warm, and effortlessly moves with your body. I use it primarily for skiing and I’m never cold nor feel that my movements are restricted.

I always enjoy my Merrill wool. Not too itchy does not retain much smell even without washing. Does not get all those little wool bunnies.

One of the best cold weather garments I’ve bought. Used in December gun season in Wisconsin, kept me warm. I bought an extra large as I normally wear, it’s loose fitting to wear over two or three other layers. Perfect!

I like my meriwool products they seem to be on the less durable side of the wool products. Probably should have sized down to a medium, arms are a bit long might try and shrink it a bit.

Short take: This is the best quality heavyweight Merino baselayer you can find at any price point. It took a while but I finally found a heavy Merino Baselayer that is super warm, not itchy, has good craftsmanship and reasonably priced.I am very picky about the baselayers and have tried most of the more expensive brands including the ones that start with S and I. Merriwool offers similar or better quality at a much lower price with no compromises. The wool is top quality, zipper is the excellent YKK brand, and the fit is perfect with just enough room to put on another light baselayer below it.Tested it as soon as I got it and with a light windbreaker over it, I was very comfortable outside in icy cold winds. I can see it being an overkill in mild weather.Note the torso and sleeve length is a bit longer than what you would expect, so maybe size down.

Incredible sweater for a great price when you can find one that fits you.I'm a pretty standard Large (43 inch chest/33" sleeve/5'9"/fit) and when I purchased a size L 250gram top, it was skin tight. I ended up donating it and buying an XL that was super baggy (but cozy, so I kept it). I figured the sizing might be weird, so I tried again and got another L 250 gram top. This one was much better, but still snug. Then it came time to buy this gorgeous layer. 400 grams of merino wool love. Not having confidence in the sizing, I ordered two, one in L, one in XL. I tried the L on and it was larger than the XL 250 top. The sleeves alone were for an orangutan. I didn't even try the XL on. I returned those two and ordered the M, which is a split in size between my L and XL 250 gram tops. I'm keeping it.About the sweater. Soft, thick, luxurious merino wool. Imagine a super thick wool thermal. Compares very favorably (with the exception of the sizing issues) to the Sm@rt Wool products. Good stitching, Wicked long sleeves. I'm a 33 sleeve in a dress shirt and you could probably fit comfortably in this medium sweater if you have 36 or 37 inch sleeve.I suspect I will live in this sweater through the winter, both on and off the mountain.Good luck.

The garment is of excellent quality and workmanship. However, the weight is not 400g it is 350g. Over the next several years, I will be able to judge my MERIWOOL heavy sweater. I liked the first purchase so much I purchased 2 more.

Body and arm fits much more comfortably than the 320g weight shirt from Meriwool, however the neck opening is gapingly large. Zipped all the way up the collar stands erect around my head almost in front my chin, I felt like Auron from Final Fantasy X.

I love this half zip and just about everything from Meriwool. I live in Minneapolis where it’s bitter cold. I toss the half zip over their 250g base layer when it’s 20 degrees out and cold no more!Seems durable. I hand wash it with Eucalan wool wash.As another reviewer mentioned, the collar folds down when zipped down. I prefer this as it gives this a more relaxed fit.Pros:- I’m close to 5’10”, 170lbs. Fits as expected (purchased a Medium). It’s not skin tight so you can wear this on it’s own or over a shirt (which was my intention). Some can argue it’s a bit long, like many of Meriwool’s clothing, as it hangs about 6” below my waist....but I like the length.- Warm. I’ve only experienced this zip in the winter so it’s perfect over a base layer when it’s 20 degrees out :). When it’s 40 degrees, it’s great on its own.Cons:- The only minor gripe I have is that it “pills” up and collects fibers (or dog hair). This doesn’t bother me much but if you wear it a bunch before a wash, which I do, then you may need to take a lint brush to it on occasion.Overall, love it!
