The length is much more fussy that you might think, the tolerance is +0", -1/8".We have a tiled wall, a bit irregular and not noticeable. Spring rods fell down because the wall is very, very slightly narrower at top than bottom. I mounted the plates with 2 screws through the grout joints so I did not need to drill tile. I measured and cut the rod 1/2" long (I thought). It was just a shade longer than the tile-to-tile. I cut off 1/8" at a time until it fit between the flat plates. The mounting flanges are tapered, and I then needed to shave off a tiny bit more to allow for the tapers - perfect fit. I strung on the trim disks, screwed the plates very firmly to wall and done. Almost. The mounts did not hold the trim because they were very tight to the irregular tile and deformed a tiny bit. I loosened the screws a fractional turn to be firm but not deformed, and the trim rings snapped into place.

The new bar looks quite modern. Must be very careful in cutting it to size.

They should be spray painted gold so that Trump would use them . They're huge!

Got this to mount a brushed stainless shower rod and it matches really well. The pics do not show, but there are 3 indentations used to hold the cover over the flange that actually mounts to the wall. You will see them. I think they could have designed something a little nicer looks wise, but it works and is barely noticeable.Second, do NOT pay over an Andrew Jackson for these. I wouldn't even pay half that much. They were however worth the less than two George Washington's I paid with free Add-On shipping. They're not worth more than that, despite being the Moen brand.

My shower rods kept falling down until I put these up. They are great. It was a little tricky to mount the plates without a 2 x 4 in the wall but molly bolts did the trick. Although I will not hang from the rod that runs between these flanges there is no chance that the rod drop with the weight of the three curtains I have mounted to the hooks that slide on it.

Good quality and shipped as expected. I relaxed a 1 year old shower bar that started to rust. Let's see how this one holds up.

Highly Recommend. Nice appearance. Was able to shorten the length easily for a perfect fit.
