Was looking for a long black coat. I like this coat because I don’t have to wear no sweaters, don’t have to layers on cold days. I can slip over my pajamas on cold days with my boots and still be warm. Help shovel snow and stay warm. This is my winter storm coat

I ordered this with high hopes. I researched a bunch of long coats and none of the reasonably priced ones seemed to be worthy. I needed a long one because when I have recess duty that wind blows right through my pants. The coat I have is warm, but not long enough. So, I bit the bullet and bought this one. It arrived two days before a sleet and snow storm. I went out with the dogs several times so they could use the bathroom and we could play and get some energy off. I had on snow boots and the long coat. I was so comfortable. Now, I am a very cold natured person. Forty degrees is too cold for me! I was out in the 20's with windchills much colder. I was standing with the sleet and freezing rain pelting me and I was not cold. The ONLY problem was when I came in the fur was really wet. Water pretty much rolled off the rest of the coat, but clung to the fur. However, you can zip the fur off. Problem solved. I zipped it off and the rest of the day, no problem. I'm 5' 5" and 120 lbs., I got a medium and it fit perfectly. I'm going to say it probably came down to the top of my snow boots because I didn't feel any wind blowing through my pants.

Most coats in this price range do not have a fuzzy hood. If you've been in cold- cold. You know you need a fuzzy hood. Full fur trim would be ideal but you need to jump your budget to get that.Edit: it DOES zip both ways! So my legs can be free and my top zipped. This makes it even better because if I'm too warm I can cool down with this feature and still have a warm torsoThe pockets are nice. I tried a different brand and the pockets were scratchy especially on dry hands. No good. These pockets are just like the outside of the coat. So that's fine.I waffled between large and xL forever. I finally went xl. It fits enough that I can wear a sweater and my elbows are still comfortable. That's a necessity for me. It is over all big. A large probably would fit *perfect* but i plan on a couple babies in the next few years so I like the space to grow. I'm 5'7" and 180lbs right now.I went for a midnight walk in Wisconsin weather. When we got back everyone else was " warming up". Meanwhile I had been sweating and went back out in my shirtsleeves to cool down. It's TOASTY.I love the hood too. I can grab my coat and only my coat and go out and I am literally warm head to toe. Well okay I need shoes. But when your whole body is warm even your feet stay warmer. If you're working with your hands bring gloves. But this coat covers head, neck, torso, legs, keeping them soo toasty. No wind gets through. The 3 things I'd change are1. A zipper that goes up and down so you could have your torso zipped without your legs.2. A drawstring for the waist. A mitten minder can sinch you in a pinch though.3. Little catches for the hood so it would stay tight without needing to actually tie them together. Those are minor and picky though so it is still a 5 * from me! It was a gift off my wish list and I've thanked my husband almost every time I've worn it. I even wore it around the house when I was under the weather and felt chilly. It's like a walking blanket.I'm almost tempted to finally donate my insanely thick, insanely warm coat I keep on hand for those rare -20* days when I need to go out. I think this one would suffice! And yet, this one isn't bulky and thick. I don't know how that works. Maybe because it covers so much. That probably makes a big difference. No more cold booty and thigh fat for me! Woohoo!Tested in Wisconsin over new years in temps from 0-20* F

I Love this coat. There’s been a cold snap here and it’s been in the single digits when it’s normally around 40 or higher. There’s two sets of pockets outside and an inner pocket. The hood is heavy and fur-lined so I didn’t need a hat this morning when it was 21. The hood does hang down low, but it didn’t cover my eyes. I liked that it blocked the blinding sun this morning . The coat is very warm, so when it warmed up today to the 40s I was able to wear it open and still be warm. Zipped all the way up it feels like wearing a soft squishy sleeping bag, but it’s not tight around the legs. Still plenty of room to walks. It has double zippers so you can have it unzipped at the bottom or top. A lot of people recommended sizing down, and I do too. Based on the measurement guide, it looked like I would have been an extra large, but a large fits perfect. I also wanted mine as form fitting as I could get without it being too narrow in the shoulders. I am about 175lbs and 5’6.

As the Norwegian saying goes, “Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlig klær”. “There is no bad weather, only bad clothing”.My daughters told me that when I visited them in Norway a few months ago and it got me thinking, I need to get out more, but it’s too dang cold!So I ordered this coat to replace an old wool peacoat I’ve had for years. It’s already exceeded my expectations! The 2 things I wanted on a new coat was something that’s actually warm. And second, something that covers me as far down my legs as possible. I’m 5’6” and it goes down to about my mid-calf. It’s also a LOT heavier than I expected, but in a really good way. It’s like wearing my bed comforter around but in coat form. Also, the one thing I wasn’t sure it had from reading the description, was a dual zipper, or one that zips back up for when I’m in the car or sitting. Yes. It does have that zipper style if you’re wondering. It has a total of 6 pockets, 3 on each side and the upper pockets are great for keys, hand warmer storage, or whatever else you need to keep accessible. The color is lovely too. I got the gray. It snowed last night and my wife has to leave for work at 6am so I went out to clean her car. I was just in my nighty and sneakers, and my new coat. The only part of me that was cold were my ankles. It performed perfectly and kept me super cozy!Sorry for the long review, but my hope is this helps someone with the decision to spend $75 on something sight, unseen. Stay warm everyone and good luck in your coat search!
