I got this counterfeit bill detector because I occasionally sell things on Marketplace and Craigs List, and I don’t want to take the chance of accepting a bogus bill. U.S. currency, except for one dollar bills, have a colored stripe that shows up under ultraviolet light. Each denomination has a different color stripe which is also in a different location on each bill.I tested this detector on $20, $50, and $100 bills and it picked up the stripe on each bill. It was easy to use and the stripe was visible under normal lighting conditions. The detector is cordless and has a rechargeable 1200 mAh lithium battery. It has a USB-C port for charging and a USB-A to USB-C cable is included.For simple and easy counterfeit recognition you can’t go wrong with this detector.

This bill detector is so useful for detecting bills. Upon transactions, it is really important to make sure that the money is authentic and this is such a convenient way to test the bills. It is really compact, organized, and does an incredible job of ensuring peace and safety. It has a charger for charging it and is lightweight. Highly recommend!

As someone who handles cash transactions daily, the threat of counterfeit money is a real concern. This device has given me the confidence and peace of mind I needed. Because we spend many weekends at pop-up shops, it's important to ensure that we are being safe with everything, especially the money. The detector is incredibly easy to use. Its compact design doesn't take up much counter space, and the bright UV LED light quickly reveals the security features in bills that are invisible to the naked eye. I was surprised at how clearly the security strips and watermarks became visible. It's fast, efficient, and takes the guesswork out of verifying currency.

Only had one unit at the store and had to go to an upstairs office to check any questionable bills. This will be nearer to our customer service desk and cashiers.It’s great that there are many options to “power” the unit. Simple to use and effective.Having a marking pen works great but this will be added protection.

This is a really nice little unit. It can run with the USB-C cable or by the internal rechargeable battery. It is very versatile and portable. I tried it with a $20 bill, and a $5 bill, and the filaments fluoresced as they should. The $20s should show a green stripe, and the $5s should show a blue stripe. It has a sensor that turns on and off as you put bills in it. This just seems like a really well made, useful, versatile product that is well worth the investment. I’m very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this bill checker.

Never used one of these before, but I thought it'd be fun to try out. So, according to Google, the UV light basically shows the hidden features of each specific bill.In the pictures, the fake one-hundred dollar bill that I bought from Amazon is the one that lights up brightly (on the right). I assume that the fake ones light up because of the type of paper that they are made of. The authentic bill just shows its hidden image, which looks pinkish on the left-hand side of the bill.I also like that it has a sensor and can turn on the UV light when you place a bill inside of it, blocking the sensor. It turns off after a short time to save battery, so you don't have to worry about turning it off and on all the time.
