This is a so needed accessory for those whose eyes don’t see that well. This was the perfect loutish to add to my laptop to get extra light where as my laptop screen often dims. Simple to set up on laptop and the bonus is the built in speaker. I can listen to music or listen to what I’m watching on the computer.

While the light is not bad, trying to get it to fit my monitor and not fall off every time I had some serious typing to do. The speaker on the back doesn't tighten enough to keep the light and speaker on the monitor. I keep the screwdriver handy, but I think it's stripping inside so how long that will last is questionable.I like the way the light is subtle and not in my eyes, and I have to say it did cut down on my eye fatigue.It's not bright, and I have a hard time with the 5 levels of "warmth". I only see a difference in 3, and the brightness change is very little. I like to work at night and I wish it would get a tad brighter.The connections in the back are ok at first but if you want to use the speaker you need to get up and around the desk to find the button and connect it to your music, in my case my phone. The sound is not super terrific, but it's sufficient for while I'm working.I can't see this as a gaming piece as those I've seen gaming are not delicate. But I guess a piece of double sided tape would help.I just got a curved monitor so we'll see how well it holds on to that.Love the idea, not so crazy about the design.

This is very easy to install. The front part under the light rests against the front of the monitor and the speaker sits behind the monitor. It has a protection pad. It's adjustable (and comes with tools) to fit most (if not all) monitors. This is a good spacesaver. The touch buttons on the light are illuminated. There's three color temperatures and the ability to dim. The speaker also has an RGB light, which looks cool. The speaker doesn't have rich deep tones, but I didn't expect it too. It sounds okay. The buttons to turn on the speaker and the speaker's light are in back and a bit hard to find. If you have bigger fingers, it makes it even harder. I tried to disable the USB port once in sleep mode, but for some reason I can't get it to work. It would have been nice to have the buttons better placed. This is on sale for $35.99, which I think is fair. The main reasons I wanted it was to save speaker space and have some light, so mission accomplished!

This monitor-top light bar and speaker looks like a great idea in concept, but the product as delivered seems to need further development. Its installation depends on the speaker in the rear hinging down against the back of the monitor to gently pinch the monitor between the lip at the front (top face edge of the monitor) and the speaker pod at the rear. The problem is that there is no grip. The speaker pod hangs limply and pivots freely, providing no grip at all. Tightening the one screw that holds the whole assembly together does no good. I continued to tighten it beyond the point that I feared stripping the threads of the plastic receiving the screw. It needs to have some way to provide friction, or a spring loading of the hinge action, or perhaps a redesign of the shape and configuration. Otherwise, it will continue - like mine - to simply fall backwards off of the monitor. After messing with this for a while, I finally decided to just disconnect the speaker pod, mount the light bar to the top of my monitor with 3M automobile trim mounting tape, and put the speaker in a junk drawer. I didn't test the speaker. It has a single driver and an opposed passive baffle... I don't think I could rightly call it a subwoofer. Based on its size, shape, and weight, I would expect it to be similar to the dozens of other low cost generic Bluetooth speakers that slightly improve the sound from a cell phone. I think I'd prefer a simple light bar that functions well than one with a marginal speaker. I cannot recommend this product. The manufacturer needs to "go back to the drawing table" and correct the design. I will attest that the light itself is exactly as I wanted. It provides even lighting on the desktop so I can see my keyboard in an otherwise dark room, without throwing any unwanted light or reflections onto the screen. The light temperature (color) switches easily between the two most typical yellow and a slightly blue-white tones. The bar is thin and round and provides some adjustment of the angle so that you can light more or less of the desktop surface but not have the lights glaring in your eyes.
