The strut began to fail as soon as I drove it after install. I took it back to the mechanic thinking surely something else had to be wrong but he confirmed that it was the strut. It should be noted that my previous mechanic had installed the exact same Monroe strut about 6 months prior and it failed almost immediately as well. I thought it was just a 1 time thing but apparently they are just poorly manufactured. Just pay a few dollars more for a better one.**I'll update once my mechanic installs the KYB strut in the next week or 2.

The Saab 9-3 has been running struts for 9 months now and they perform wonderfully. The price was right and more importantly the ride is well controlled, never harsh, and never mushy. This was a win for me. OEM performance.
