I ride a Ninja Z500 SE and this bar riser was perfect that I bought 2 (wife and i). We were able to lower the bike by 2" with no issues at all. Highly recommend this bar riser.

I don't have a z400 service manual, but I do have the z650 manual; it should be similar. The 650 manual says tighten the 4 "handlebar holder bolts" to 25 Nm (18 ft-lb). They want you to tighten them in a sequence: tighten the 2 bolts toward the front of the bike first; the left one, then the right one. Then tighten the two bolts in the back toward the rider; the left one then the right one. The manual says there should be a gap at the back of each clamp; a small gap facing the rider. You can see this if you look at the back of the clamps before you do the installation. The manual also does NOT specify using LocTite on these bolts. It does mention using LocTite on the weights at the end of the handlebars so its not like they've never heard of it. I mention this as it may not be necessary if you torque the the bolts properly and if you ever need to remove the risers its really easy to strip these hex bolts. Your choice.

You had me at 'berries'. I'm 62. 5-10" normal dimensions. This is my last bike, not my first. I have already replaced the seat because of comfort for longer rides. I have about 900 miles in the saddle so far.So: 1) It really is a 20 minute job. 2) The stock cables really are long enough. 3) Handlebars still clear the tank after installation. 4) It all fits with the factory hardware and looks purpose-built.Kit came with no instructions at all. Looks well made. I did some searching online and ended up settling on 20 Ft-lbs torque for the OEM handlebar clamp bolts. I used blue Loctite on all the fasteners. And make sure the top or front ones are tightened before the bottom/rear ones. There is a gap on the clamp and it's there for a reason.There's a huge difference between a 20 minute ride and a 120 minute ride. I will test ride the setup tomorrow and update my review afterwards. That's for ergonomics for those like myself only. Feels very promising in the garage. The product itself is excellent and a great value.Update: Just finished a 4 hour ride of 180 miles. I noticed no change in handling, but the comfort is beyond compare. Saddle sore but that's it. The risers give you just enough extra. Five stars for sure.

This really did the trick for me with my new z400. Im only a 5'7" man and i was haveing trouble with sliding forward to the tank and crushing my berries.. I was so uncomfortable i thought i made a mistake buying the bike. I was thinking of trying diffferent seat or maybe lowering the rear to get a better position. Then someone on reddit mentioned handlebar risers. So i saw this and it had good reviews so i instantly ordered it. Only took like 20min to install. The bike feels so different, in a good way. Perfectly upright but still sloped forward. No pressure on berries or slideing forward. This probably isnt necessary for taller people but if youre less than 5' 9" and want a more upright position its a must. I now love the bike. Btw the handleing is slightly changed, tiny bit less flickable but totally worth it for comfort. Give it a try!

5/5 Easy to install. OE cables have just enough for these spacers without requiring any extensions. Improves riding ergonomics to put you a bit more upright. ❤️

The color and look of these matches perfectly with my Z400. There is no need to modify any cabling / brake line length in order to swap this on. It's tight to slide it on, but it fits nicely and there is enough play in everything on full lock.The change in riding position is just what I needed to take the weight off my wrists and really make this a comfortable riding position for me.
